Patience does pay off !!, it seems that people are looking for knee jerk reaction signings just to make themselves feel a bit more comfortable with this re-branding issue or to show the Malaysians are keeping their promises. Malky got it right last season with recruitment and with the backing he has now it will be an even better summer this time around.![]()

The club pays the Manager handsomely to do a job. He has put a system in place to deliver players who fit into the vision and system, we need to be patient and let the process work. Do we want more Cowies and Gunnarson's or Parkins and Twaio's ?

CalShepCCFC wrote:MALKY Mackay has outlined his meticulous summer transfer policy aimed at avoiding planting a “time bomb” in the Bluebirds’ dressing room.
The City boss is currently looking to build his squad ahead of the next Championship campaign which starts with the visit of Huddersfield on August 18.
After securing a play-off place in his first season in charge in the Welsh capital, Mackay is looking to go one step further this time and finally secure Premier League promotion for his side.
Following the club’s controversial rebranding plans, with Cardiff playing at home in red shirts this campaign instead of the traditional blue, Mackay is being supported in the transfer market by the club’s Malaysian backers.
Indeed, the City boss has already admitted his is ‘delighted’ by the funds at his disposal this summer.
So far only goalkeeper Joe Lewis has joined Cardiff after becoming a free agent when his contract came to an end at Peterborough.
But Mackay has been busy trying to add to his signings with attempts to land strikers Jamie Vardy, Jay Rodriguez and Bjorn Sigurdarson all ending in frustration as they joined other clubs.
But Mackay has vowed he will not panic and insist he is prepared to wait all the way until the transfer window closes on August 31 if it means landing the players he really wants.
And the Cardiff boss has revealed the lengths he will go to in a bid to identify the right players to join his Bluebirds’ squad.
It is not just about the player’s performance on the pitch for Mackay and his staff.
The characters and backgrounds of potential recruits are also examined with former and current colleagues in the football world sounded out to see if they might fit into Mackay’s way of doing things.
A dossier is built up on each transfer target covering all potential angles.
Mackay believes it is the only way to sustain the unity he wants within the Cardiff dressing room with the no-nonsense Scot insisting one rotten apple could ruin everything he is trying to build at the club.
“We produce dossiers on every player we want to sign,” said Mackay.
“Within that there is one page on the player’s personality and lifestyle. You have to have as much as you can on that because if you get that wrong, well, good luck to you.
“One time bomb in the dressing room can corrupt the whole place.
“If you can bring in people who look after each other, who discipline each other then you have a better chance of achieving what you want to achieve.
“The fact is you have a much better chance of doing well if you don’t have people inside working against what you are trying to do.
“You have a much better chance of sticking together and coming together as a team.
“Personally I believe you owe that to your the football club. The players owe it to the football club who pay them and to the fans who pay good money to watch them. As far as I’m concerned they have to be respectful.”
With every signing since he arrived at the club, little more than a year ago, Mackay has been following his philosophy to the letter.
It is the same process he will follow this summer.
One of the most important elements Mackay admits is to speak to people who know the player well.
For Mackay the clinching factor is simple, any new signing expecting to play for his team must respect the club, the club’s staff, the club’s fan and their fellow players.
“Respect and manners should be a given, no matter what profession you are in,” added Mackay.
“If you have respect for fellow players, the staff, the supporters and you work to become a better player then, in my experience, that will all come back to you in a positive way.
“We will speak to coaches and managers, get to somebody who has played alongside the player we are interested in. Often it’s somebody I know.
“They may say, ‘don’t touch him’ or they might say, ‘absolutely take him’.
“The 10 players we brought in last summer we spoke to fellow players and colleagues and all of those we spoke to were saying, ‘yes, sign them’.
“That will be the exact same case with the additions we make this summer.”

He would fuss and fart about waiting for an answer if Ronaldo has ever dropped a pill and Leicester would pinch him.
