I have picked up on a couple of reports on here that would be alarming if true................report one.Malky going to be on holiday in July...if this report is true he would be away at a time when a lot of transfer business will start to happen, and before anyone tells me he would only be a telephone call away,i remember Malky admitting he turned his mobile phone off on the final night of the last transfer window.........report two.we have offered a million pounds for Lawrence,if this is true this would be the most alarming story of the two,if this deal was to go through it would demonstrate Malky's limitations in the transfer market and people, red or blue would quite rightly say, these are not the actions of an ambitious club or manager....finally i would say this.i wonder if Malky realises how vital for him and for the rebranding of the club, that he makes the right signings in this window of opportunity,he will not be allowed the luxury of getting away with the same excuses he made for his lack of success in the last transfer window,it will not just be the fans who will be watching what he does, but i suspect the owners to

People are paid to sort out transfers etc if Malky is away, they just work with his shortlist and obv he has talked about the type of players he wants with them anyway, And I dont want to see Lawrence in a Cardiff top period lol

I wouldn't be against Liam Lawerence returning, but I wouldn't pay £1m for him.
If we take him off Pompey's hands they will be saving a fortune in wages, so I see no need for a fee as well.
All employees deserve a holiday and I'm sure MM has made arrangements for transfers to proceed in his absence.

i would take a lawerance on a free. or a around 200k max...

Absolute joke if true.
Tue Jun 19, 2012 11:39 am
he might have a mobile phone you never now.

Firstly Malkay has already had a family break in France. Secondly I believe Lawrence is a free agent as no longer under contract at Pompey. May be wrong I dont claim to be in the know, but please stop scaremongering for the sake of it.

Im nearly certain that hes already had a break in france. When he had an interview a few weeks back when he spoke about the investment i think he was in france then. I dont think malky is that stupid to go on holiday that late (i hope)
Tue Jun 19, 2012 12:07 pm
dont see the problem myself, he will have given a list of players he wants to the club, who will be negotiating transfer fees and personal terms, i wouldnt imagine that Malky would get involved in that side of things anyway.
With Lawrence, personally i would love to see him here, but 18k a week is too much, and 1m transfer fee is way too much.
If we could get him for say, 250/350k on about 12k a week wages, i think he would be ideal.
Tue Jun 19, 2012 12:27 pm
Two points;
I'm sure that Malky will delegate to one of his trusted staff. 'Any probs, give me a bell.'
Lawrence did well at the end of last season. Would love to see him back. Where has the £1m figure come from ?
Tue Jun 19, 2012 12:32 pm
I would think Malky has already handed in his list of players he wants, and as for the talks that will be done with the someone from our club , who will meet with the players agents.

Lawrence is shite to be honest, better players available.
It shows our ambition then for promotion

And the good news is: "YOU ARE RESPONDING TO RUMOURS!"
enough said.
