In my opinion it is well worth a read.
Like most of these sort of books it is very short - so will only take an hour or so of your life.
Have you read Earnie's mini-autobiography that came out around Christmas? Also very short - and no work of literature - but worth a read, and brings back memories.

Andy Leggs short read is brilliant.
Is Ali's book just about the football or about him in general? An extremely interesting guy.

It is mainly general stuff and about the tannoy - and the sub-culture, the friendships and feuds, of stadium announcers.
I would have liked more about the BBC and his work away from the stadium - and also the snippets and interviews he has done on World/Player.
Still, if you don't expect too much I think you will get a good little read and some shared memories.

Yeah I've met him a number of times and he has some great stories about his directing things like Eastenders.

Good book, you should get it. It's about his time as a travelling city fan and being announcer at millenium stadium and ninian park
