Even tho i am against the change to red and the badge change i dont want to see our name as an anit-red group

iv been advised to re-think the name as it may cause a stir in the club

Hhhmmm
Blue army - certainly suggests a divide as does Cardiff blues (and like the egg)
Cardiff capital - ok but what would the valley boys feel left out?
My suggestion would be something with bluebird in, to strengthen the affinity with the bluebird so many (nearly all) are so furious about making smaller on the crest.

Cardiff's Barmy Army

I think Blue Army would be the best name. You don't have to be anti-red to be in it.
Every other name doesn't work. Something along the lines of "Bluebirds Barmy Army" could work

Blue Army - imposing, iconic
Cardiff Capitals - sense of importance, dominance
Capital Blues - historic, symbolic, impervious
Cardiff Crew - eh, connotations of the soul crew, no go IMO
Cardiff Squad - sounds like a fascist group
I will vote for...... Capital Blues

No you wouldn't have to but can you see the club supporting a group called blue army when rebranding as red?

Thats the only problem. If they did support it then fair enough but I cant see it

Agreed and without the clubs support it won't happen, not effectively anyway.
I think key words for the name will need to be Bluebird in it or city.

What about "Keenor's army"

Im happy with Blue Army or Capital Blues. Blue Army is best though

The name is important.
It is a dilemma - we start up a vocal fan group called the Blue Army - when half the season we will have our players wearing red!
I like the Capital Blues also.
A name with Blue in it could appear divisive.
We have chanted Barmy Army many times.
I've thought of names like;
The Sons of Eddie May. (Noisy times!)
Passion & Fire Brigade. ( A pisstake of ourselves but shows we're confident to take things on the chin)
The 12th Man (one of the instigators of this plus helps with merchandising etc)
The True Blue 700 - (again based one of the main organisors - we get 700 members - a bit of exclusivity and kudos?)
Keep coming back to the Blue Army or Capital Blues.
Its who we are - we accommodate them on the Red - they return the gesture.
The club will have to accept it - maybe we could re-brand in the future??!!!

Blue Army for me.
I don't like the other names, they make me cringe.

What about the 701st member of the True Blue 700?!

How about True Blues instead, less complicated...
Blue Army all day for me. Everyone knows it's a Fans Group not an anti-red movment by now.

Got to be Blue Army it's what we are and what we chant it doesn't mean anti red but i believe the Club are going to go down a very contentious route if they are going to try and stop the name Blue Army and Blue Army Chants.
It is us fans that are the heart and soul of the Club and it is us who must preserve our roots and identity has Bluebirds never mind what colour we play in

Jeff, I don't think the club will stop it, how could they, it's just that for it to be organised and supported with the club's support as to having a platform erected and an area allocated etc.It could embarrass them to be seen to back and set up a group calling themselves the Blue Army when the club owner as chosen that his team plays in red.
I just want to see it go ahead and be successful, anything to help the atmosphere, nothing stopping the grouped doing their own thing, just feel they'll achieve more with the club's backing.

Gwyn, The keyword once again then is compromise to find something that is acceptable to both the fans and the Club maybe just pure and simply Barmy Army sums us up really
