" Malky Puts Up Players Not For Sale Signs! "

Remember if Cardiff sell a player we don't get the money anyway Ray Ranson gets it.

CARDIFF City boss Malky Mackay has nailed up a firm ‘Not for Sale’ sign when it comes to his top players this summer!

The Bluebirds manager insists he is only focused on adding to his squad ahead of the next Championship campaign and is under no pressure to offload his star names.

The news will come as a relief to fans as Cardiff look to go one step better than the play-off place secured by Mackay in his first season.

Some of the personnel from that side are sure to be coveted by others, including centre-half Ben Turner and young striker Joe Mason.

Midfield maestro Peter Whittingham remains the Bluebirds’ jewel in the crown and was recently voted the best player outside the Premier League by readers of FourFourTwo magazine..

Last season, Mackay had to repel a £3m bid for the 27-year-old from West Ham and he insists nothing has changed should sides come shopping for his players again.

Mackay said he has the full backing of his board to ensure movement at the club this close season is just one way and that there will be new faces coming in.

“I don't want to lose good players,” he said.

“My owner is not putting any pressure on me to sell, we are a club right now which is very much about building.

“My chairman, Dato Chan Tien Ghee, has never been anything other than supportive when it comes to what I have wanted to do.

“There have been no offers at all for any of my players so far this window – and that is something I am not focused on anyway.”

City appear to have missed out on summer target Björn Sigurdarson, the Icelandic striker set to join Championship rivals Wolves in a £2.4m deal.

But Cardiff could move for former Dundee United defender Paul Dixon, with Leicester also interested.

The 25-year-old left-back is a free agent after leaving The Terrors at the end of last season after his contract expired.

Dixon made 145 appearances for the SPL club in a four-year spell after signing from city rivals Dundee in 2008.

West Bromwich Albion, 14:15, June 16, 2012
West Brom have been linked with a summer swoop for Cardiff City midfielder Peter Whittingham.

New Baggies boss Steve Clarke is looking to bolster his squad at the Hawthorns and, having discussed potential targets with sporting and technical director Dan Ashworth, it seems Whittingham is high up on his wanted list.
Former boss Roy Hodgson had been linked with the 27-year-old former Aston Villa man during the January transfer window, but the Bluebirds dismissed any possibility of losing a key man during their pursuit of promotion to the Premier League.
However, after the Welsh outfit lost out in the play-offs for a third successive season, the Baggies could be set to renew their interest this summer, especially with Paul Scharner and Keith Andrews out of contract.
Newcastle midfielder Danny Guthrie, who is a free agent after leaving Newcastle at the end of last season, is also still being linked with a move to the Hawthorns.
