Instead of typing your opinions on here regarding the rebranding. Anyone had a full blown debate/argument in the flesh yet?
Haven't had any spare time since all this crazy stuff started happening to our club, but the other night went round my mates for a chat and a smoke and to discuss this rebranding amongst other things. He is an old school Grange ender from the seventies that stopped going in the eighties but still listens to all our games and has recently started going again particularly when Bellamy came home. Also there was a TOP ex graphic designer and marketing friend of mine who has lots of experience with rebranding of companies.
Bloody hell! What a hoot, it became loud, opinionated and chaotic it was hilarious! My old mate is absolutely 100% for the rebranding which stunned me knowing him as I do, me as you may or may not know am totally in the Blue corner and am still coming to terms with this U-turn, non discussed, non negotiable action by our owners. It made me realise how much division this radical change has caused amongst us all.
But you knew that anyway, and you know this next bit too. My other mate, the designer, thought I was having a joke with him when I showed him the beermat badge. He did not believe me that I was being serious. He is very rarely lost for words, but this design had him rubbing his eyes in disbelief. He described it as embarrassing, unprofessional, and bizarre considering this is really all about money yet none of it spent on the badge design! I then showed him Karls revamped design (not the round one) and (he is the most cynical critical person I know) was HUGELY IMPRESSED, he pointed out a few minor flaws to be ironed out but as I say was very complimentary, my other mate described it as one moment, seeing the worst football badge ever to then describing Karls as the best.
Cringeworthy to think thats its all to late anyway, and our home at CCS will have a giant beermat stuck over the Lego pieces . GOD I MISS NINIAN PARK
