The "What If" Question?

Tue Jun 12, 2012 12:24 pm

Im not looking to start arguments here - so please refrain - I am simply looking for an opinion as to how individuals think they may react.

The year is 2017. Cardiff City have been in the Premiership for 5 Consecutive seasons. Each year has been progressive and the club now enjoys an average attendance of 35,000 with a further expansion of the stadium planned.

The club has several European Internationals within its squad and is on the cusp of playing in Europe. Malky is fast approaching his tenth season at the club as are VT and TG.

Financially, the club has no debts and is reported to be amongst one of the most valuable clubs in Europe with World Class training facilities to accompany this.

Now here is the question:

If the above were to become true. How many supporters would say "I would still prefer to play in blue - but I am glad we took the gamble?"

Like I said.... I am not looking to create any arguments here. Just some healthy comments amongst fellow supporters..

I'd be prepared to walk all the way from Pembrokeshire to see us play if that was the case, although it is probably still the case now! :D

I think you'll have to check your maths though, as Malky will only have been with us for 6 years in 2017 and the Malaysians a bit longer! :) :ayatollah:

To balance the point, what if in 5 years time we were in Division 1 with huge debts and still playing in red !

The answer to your question PK is that no one would care what the shirt colour used to be.

But the scenario you describe is completely unlikely to happen in my opinion.

Honest Answer. I personally would be gutted and wished we'd stayed in blue. I'd like to think that wont happen though....

Seeing as Ive answered yours (and honestly) - let me know how you would react to my scenario?

I would definatley still fall into the catagory of 'I would still prefer to play in blue- but I am glad we took the gamble'
