WE AINT GOT NO HISTORY??

Hello people.

My departure from messageboards has been self-imposed. Basically I was getting too wound up
by some of the pricks and (lets be fair) perhaps there were a few thought I was one too. So Ce La vie!!!

Firstly. some humble pie. I was one of the Malaysians biggest supporters and believed they had done
nothing to deserve some of the flak they were getting. Well Vincent Tan has now proven that he does
not give a f**k about what the supporters think, and I no longer trust the feller.

The 'rebranding' in itself is not necessarily such a bad thing? Sometimes a change is as good as a rest.
Sometimes it can give a new lease of life. But over the last few weeks there have been some pretty tidy
looking kit designs turning up on facebook etc...incorporating red, incorporating dragons. Keeping the
Bluebird that means a lot to us. Different, but certainly acceptable to most i'd imagine after an initial
grumble or two. We've changed colours before, we've changed badges before. We'd have got over it!!!

But Tan consulted with nobody. THERE lies his true feelings about the supporters of Cardiff City, he did not
give a f**k. Some advisor of his has come up with a kit design that you'd expect to see on a bargain basement
pub team and a badge that immediately shouts out "Real Ale" It looks cheap, nasty and a rush job.

I think Tan HAS thought about all this. He has looked into the Clubs history and decided we do not have enough
of one. He has decided that most support from the "glory days" of 1927 are now dead and buried, and that since
then we have done f**k all, won f**k all and had at best... shite support. People like myself who supported City
since 1980ish or before dont count. Our loyalty, passion and pride about the Bluebirds dont matter. There aren't
enough of us. Tan has played this just right. He has gauged it just right. Most are coming round, most believe if
its "Red or Dead"... then give us red!!!... I cannot and will not criticise anyone for feeling like that. But i cannot
help feeling like Vincent Tan has ripped the heart out of Cardiff City Football Club and replaced it with a corporate
pacemaker.

Perhaps he really will invest millions now? Perhaps we WILL go from strength to strength.. I suspect we will. I think
this WILL be our last season in the Championship. But at what cost? The new ground has been a pretty soul-less
place since it was built. Thankfully, we finally have a manager who gets players who are prepared to bust a gut for
the badge. What a shame we no longer have a badge worth kissing.

In fairness Annis spoke to me yesterday and asked me to post my views on the rebranding. Annis knew full well my stance but asked me to give my views to give another perspective to the debate.

Annis does love a good debate and he is always open to both sides.

Hope your right about last season in the chammpionsip but I think we will still be there!
My real fear is that promotion don't happen this season coming then next summer will be a nightmare and they will change everything to have another go.

Some people will say they will have eggs on their faces if it don't happen next year

Welcome back TA, your right about this MB being over run by pricks and its spoilt a good MB, anyway welcome back its nice to see some decent and half normal people back.

In all honesty I dont think VT cares one bit about the fans, its all about ££££££££ & $$$$$$$$$. What will happen when we are bled dry and nothing else to make money from our club.

Sam tried the whole badge/colours change, it didnt work, he listened to the fans and
to be fair, he thought he was doing it for the right reasons. I suspect Tan has done
a lot of this because of personal preferences. If we DO go up now he can and will turn
round and say he was right, lucky Red etc.

If nowt else it might encourage him to throw some more money in, even if its just to
look big in front of his mates.

Take another couple of months off please....

TBF TA you were always one of the better posters but this time I can't agree with you. Gwyn is right, it's VT’s £100m which is going into the club (to save it, see the news today about Glasgow Rangers) not ours.

If he wishes to change the colours and badge that is his prerogative and majority of fans have accepted those conditions, making a consultation pretty pointless.

The change from blue to red was never going to be easy, but what we need to do now is make the most of it and create new history.

Can't wait for Angry Man (Midfield General) to read that I feel an 'I told you so' is coming along

TA I think it is true to say that all previous owners gradually lost trust as their tennancy wore on. I'm sure at sometime VT will implement something that will make me question my trust in him, but for now he is keeping the club alive and that is my bottom line.

Welcome back Dave,was out for Muckys engagement last month and to be honest out of fifty of us old time city fans only 2 were totally against change,the rest of us were laughing at the furore this was causing.I put this down to we've seen so much shit following this club we take it all in our stride,we are "the city" not the bluebirds or red dragons.as for consultation,no one in the past has bothered to consult us,ie terelzki with ids,knocking down of the original grange end,selling of players,seating of bobbank,signing those jack bastards marustik,cornforth and Penney or the running up of huge debts by Sam and Peter.the man with the money will do what they want but well always be there following the city 'cos we know the history.

I am 100% against Tans pathetic ideas, with no explanation, he wants to wipe our home kit out and Club badge, to me this is going to far.
