MALKY: WE MUST UNITE AS ONE NOW
Posted on: Mon 11 Jun 2012

Malky Mackay has called for Bluebirds fans to embrace recent changes made at the Football Club and move forward together.

Speaking to BBC Wales' Rob Phillips earlier today, the City boss spoke of the sound footing the Club finds itself on by virtue of the backing provided by major investor Tan Sri Dato' Seri Vincent Tan Chee Yiou.

"I've been here long enough now to fully understand our traditions at Cardiff City Football Club," Malky began. "I've been immersed in our culture and fully understand where our fans are at as well as where the Club is at.

"But I've also been at Watford in the past during a time when the Club was having to be pulled out of administration. It's a scary place to be and a place that we could find have found ourselves in had we not had the support of our major financial backer (Tan Sri Vincent Tan).

"We have to trust Tan Sri; he's someone who could have left the Football Club after the Play-Off Final defeat to Blackpool, again the following year or indeed this summer. He hasn't and has already put £40 million pounds into the Club.

"Tan Sri is backing us from the other side of the world and we must trust him. He has never taken a penny out of this Football Club and we can be very grateful for the backing and stability he's giving us. We have to come together now and unite as one.

"Supporters support a Football Club and a team and I would hope that they see that we have a Welsh Board of Directors and CEO who are fans of the Football Club and are doing their best for the Club going forward.

"Wearing red will be different, but change is constant in life. If we go with it and embrace it then success can be achieved."

Annis, the Malaysians have said that red is the only way forward... Ok I'm not over the moon about it but change is necessary. The Club will be here long after you've passed on to the Majorca in the the sky. The question I keep asking you is this:

We turf out the Malaysians, what do we do then, what is your plan? You sound like a politician, you have a go at the opposite party but have no detailed plan yourself.... Come on you're better than that....

In fairness - made a sticky straight away as well Annis :ayatollah:

Also, despite the fact I do embrace the change and the red, I accept what you say here, and can see why from your perspective you say the above.

I think as long as people debate things in a friendly way, it's fine (which again, in fairness, you have) - it's all this 'you're a traitor' kind of nonsense that's so puerile though, from some others.

Change is constant in life, with the exception of football team colours they almost always stay the same. Think Malky is spouting drivel to be honest but I suppose he had to try his best to answer an awkward question.

I am allowed to vent my feelings and after 40 consecutive years of being a season ticket holder, I am not just going to lie down and roll over in a week or so. By the way, yes I am moving to Majorca in 3 years, but I was going to come home every other week, only 2hrs flight, quicker than going to Blackpool, the way things are going, your right I might just stay in the Sun.
I am hurting by all this.
The first thing I would of done was to try and stop us losing money, its been over 2 years now and its increasing our loses.
They have not told us why we have to be stripped naked, just told us we have to be, we deserve an explanation at least.

I'm not having a go at you! I can't see an alternative, I just think that if we were on the verge of liquidation your outlook would be totally different, its easy to have a go when we have the cash.

Ok :ayatollah:
Why I dont trust them is this, they have already told at least 4 out right lies and they have not converted the money they promised they would do over a year ago in to shares. They are lending us the money and they have not come up with anything so far as how to stop us losing money. The debt is rising under them fast and now this with our colour and badge without an explanation.

Hate to point this out but the club doesnt have any money all it has so far is the promises of the malaysian which may well turn out to be as false as us playing in blue this season.

All the pro-rebrand supporters should come up with a plan B just in case this whole situation goes the way I ultimately think it will no investment just smoke and mirrors.

Annis your not wrong about Malkay because he would be out on his arse if he said anything differently. Having said that do you think he has really had any say in this rebranding proposal? and let's face it think back a year and ask yourself how our previous manager would have communicated the same message. Loads of "People In This Part Of The World " and all that bollocks.

For me Malkay is trying to protect that very special bond that existed last season between the team, fans and of course Malkay himself.

Above all else we do need to unite as one.

We never had any real money last jan to go up only loan money and then we bitched with parent clubs over wages so what makes fans think that we are going to invest millions in the squad from a dead start without kicking a ball yet they ignored it when we was 2points off top spot in january, we have had the same old for two season and it will be nothing diffrent this comming season with false hope from TG/VT and MM in the media :ayatollah:

Interesting & valid point. Just like last January,,,waiting for a new signing or two to strengthen the team, only to be told on February 01 that a couple of multi million pound bids had been gazumped at 23.59 the night before. :o [not].

Malky doesn't strike me as anyones mouthpiece and would not say so unless he believed it to be truthful. But after this statement I fully expect him to be a target now as much as tan is in some quarters. But,whatever the politics I'll bet he won't give anything less than 100% for cardiff city so asking the supporters for the same is only right.

If they wanted sordell why not the weeks we had before it neil the bid went in an hour or two before the deadline + it wasnt 4million it was 1.4million upfront the other 2.6million spread over 5years then bolton come in and beat are payments+ the player would get more money there at the time.

Malkay Mackay is the best manager we have had at this club since Jimmy Scoular, a real fans manager and as fans we must all unite behind him and the team.

Massive promotiong push then but i think we like the 15-20million hits every season thats why we only tryed to get some players in and all we had was "Oh well we tryed" but will take on another massive debt come end of the season.thats ten times that amount , look at the noone thing that dragged on for 4weeks only for them to say no 2hours before deadline i mean come on :ayatollah:
