Quite a juxtaposed/oxymoronic question really. Surely the very essence of "die-hard" support is standing by your club through thick and thin? The very action of leaving would undermine this.

Exactly, we're all plastics now! (Unless we're painted blue, chained to the railings outside the club shop and waving a charred Malaysian flag covered in faecal matter).

The term 'die hard fans' is normally used to describe fans who stick with a club through 'thick and thin'. That usually means poor results, relegations, embarrassing cup defeats etc. We've had a few of those over the years.

The situation we are now in is unique. Many of us are finding it very difficult to accept. Having followed CCFC in the 'dungeon', these are great times, and the stability that the Malaysians have given the club is very welcome. But this 'rebranding' has caught a lot of us by surprise. Why change the club's colours? To sell shirts in Asia? Because Tan thinks red is a lucky colour?

Perhaps it is a generation thing, or at least, a traditionalist thing among some of us fans. I don't think that the club want some of us to leave. Things are pretty tame at the City these days, and there is very little problem at away games, if any. Policing in particular, and stewarding too, are both very professionaly done these days. We are the family club of the year remember.

Nobody questions why fans leave when the team is doing badly, that's just the way it is. But some of us find it difficult to think of CCFC playing in red at home, with a grotesque badge. Even on a red shirt, the previous badge was fine. It had a dragon, and a daffodil, on it. Is that Welsh enough?

Are those good enough reasons to walk away? I don't know. It would be very sad if some fans do. They would be replaced, certainly if results continue to be good. Play-offs in three consecutive seasons is not bad!

By the start of the season, we will have had time to think over things. Doubt if we are talking about great numbers here, so hopefully the damage will be kept to a minimum.
