The Malaysians have played a blinder????

Wed Jun 06, 2012 8:36 am

Looks like the Malaysians have pulled off a master stroke by initially leaking the news of drastic changes being proposed which potentially included changing shirts from Blue to Red, losing the name Bluebirds, changing the Badge to a Dragon, change the colour of seats in the stadium all in return for 100 million investment.

Then they wait for the inevitable reaction and protests, once the protests arrive they say enough is enough and put both the proposed changes and promised investment on hold. Now they allow us all to stew wondering just what have we done have we just thrown away 100 million and any future investment and if so what happens now?

The reality sinks in that without the Malaysians money where would we be, if they stop puting 1m plus a month into the Club will that mean we have to sell our best players (Whitts, Turner etc) and most promising youngsters (Mason) with the potential of relegation or worse to follow? Slowly the tide starts to change and fans think that changing the colour of our shirts and badge are not such a high price to pay for the proposed investment????????

So we arrive at today with the Malaysians due to step back into the arena and make an announcement which they will now claim has popular support if the recent supporters club poll is to be believed. However to me it feels like we have all had a loaded gun placed against our heads and then been given 2 choices with the inevitable consequence if you make the wrong choice :(

I will await the announcement before i decide what i will do but having supported Cardiff City over 40 years i can't see me walking away from the Club i love can't see me wearing red to be honest but that's a personal choice. I will say however if there is any future plan to change our name to the Cardiff Dragons, Cardiff Malaysian Dragons or whatever else may be mooted i will then walk away because that will be the day that Cardiff City dies completely :(

None of the above is intended as a criticisim of the Malaysians because has i have said i think they have played a blinder and the piper calls the tune and i and i suspect no other cIty fan has got 100 million plus to invest and so we have 2 options but i can't get away from the image of a loaded gun pointed at our collective heads :(

Bluebird till i die :old: :ayatollah:

Looks like you just did die. In footballing terms.

BTW, that gun pointed to your head. It was a kiddie's one. With caps in it.

Its our club, we fund it. We created it. Yet too many people get blagged by the snakeoil salesmen.

It hasn't been our clubs for years how many you wanted the sam badge change (very little and it happened) new ground, sharing with the blues, loss of reserve team football, the numerous shit managers, selling players... we control shit the only thing we control is our own attendance

I don't think you are a million miles away from what happened, but in fairness the gun was loaded and pointed at our heads well before the Malaysians came on the scene.

Unfortunately the truth of the matter is we don't fund it and we don't control it i wish we did but unless you have got 100 million plus to invest you and every other fan has 2 choices :(
