So they lied then

Tue Jun 05, 2012 11:53 am

Gone back on their word.

Dissapointing, I really felt TG was different but it seems hes just the same as all the other parasites we have had down the years.

hang on Polo, the majority of fans who've voted in polls have said they want the changes. Surely, they've just taken this on board?

YES,Not done my season ticket yet :( f*cking pissed off

Re: So they lied then

Tue Jun 05, 2012 11:56 am

Not really. Over time they probably realised the opposition to this wasn't as widespread as the vocal minority made out.

Is their "lie" any bigger a lie than those claiming they'll never be at CCS again if we go red, because we all know that's bs... especially when there are big games.

Unless it was an election of all season ticket holders then them, polls dont mean shit to me.

Anyway, how can you vote on something whilst still not knowing the reasons???

Correct, should have been season ticket holders poll and no one else.

Personally I dont think they ever had any plans to go back to blue, they made their decision and thats that.

Lied to calm everyone down, then got on board some of the more prominent Blue supporters, who in turn got others on board.

Rebranding a footbal club, ive never heard such nonsense to be honest. Does anyone really think Wimbledon fans follows the MK Dons?

Didnt they change from Blue to red as well? Hmmmm.

Its like doing an opinion poll, with no policies set out. Nonsense.

It's the club we support not the colour of the shirt. If you can not going to stop going to the games just because of the colour of the shirt then it says it all about you as supporter. You won't be missed. :salute:

Yes, I see the sense of that, but the same goes for the seemingly negative reaction of some fans when the news initially broke.

Until they do a genuine poll of all us season ticket holders, then there's no way of knowing for certain, but in the polls that have been done, there's certainly no evidence of a widespread opposition, and perhaps they've taken that as a positive.

Exactly what I've always said..... How anyone can take a poll in the national press seriously is beyond me, when the likelihood is that a large percentage of the people who voted will never set foot inside the stadium or spend a single penny on the club.... the only way to get a TRUE census of opinion is to either canvas season ticket holders or do it on a match day as people walk in through the turnstiles....

Most of the people who voted in the poll couldn't give two tosses about the club and the Malaysians damn well know this but have decided to use it as their standard bearer to justify getting their own way with no regard for the thousands of loyal supporters opposed to it. It is sooooooo easy to manipulate figures to go along with whatever outcome you desire, and of course the Malaysians knew this... We have been well and truly played.....

It was as usual people with the biggest mouths making all the noise. Once TG came over here and it was made clear to him that more fans support the change than are against it then VT and TG will quite rightly have taken this on board before any final decision is made. Don't like it then go and watch your local team because if they leave or substantially reduce their monthly investment then it's non league where we will end up. But hey it's ok we are still playing in blue. But I bet we wouldn't see you watching us then. We wouldn't see your arse for dust.

Nope... sorry.... but you can't speak for me as I've been there since 1984, and would continue to be no matter what division we were playing in as I don't feel the need to sell my soul just to watch Premiership football.... but remove the heart and soul of my club just to please ONE man's whim and that might be another matter

Exactly. For instance, all polls/surveys that Media Wales have been conducting have concluded that the majority of fans are in favour of these changes when it's probably the other way around. The same goes for news programmes etc. such as Wales Today who once more said in their lunchtime bulletin today that the plans were scrapped previously because of opposition from 'some' fans. More like all of them!

So what about the Supporter's Club poll then, where 48% said they were in full favour of the proposals and only 7% voted in favour of not budging in any way? :?

I haven't spoken to one City fan who is against the changes. And I know loads either friends, neighbours, other people living near me, work mates etc most ofwhom are season ticket holders. So you can use polls/surveys call it what you like to suit whatever side you are on.

Rubbish. There has not been a proper poll conducted.I bet if you held a poll today and asked do you want to play in red and swap the bluebird for a dragon then at least half the fans would be against it.The reason that there has not been so much opposition about the rebranding lately is because the Malaysian statement said they were dropping the plans so there was no need to keep on complaining. If the Malaysians now think they can do a u turn and bring this in through the back door then they are mistaken. If they do try this tactic then the opposition will be even grater this time as they would be seen as going back on their word. :ayatollah:

I may be wrong but they said we would be playing in blue this season and that is what is now being confirmed i.e. we won't be playing in red until next season so how has he gone back on his word?

Re: So they lied then

Tue Jun 05, 2012 2:55 pm

Wasn't the supporters club poll something like 93% in favour of the changes? That is a massive amount. Some here are talking as if it was a rough split, it wasn't. Almost every single person who voted was on side. Even if it was out, it would have had to have been out by a massive amount to swing towards staying blue. Now you could argue that not everyone got to vote, but all the poles point to changing so it's fair to say that if every single person voted then it would still mean the same thing - Change to red and take the money!

Whatever subject people vote on the losing side can always point to this and that. How many votes did David Cameron get to be pm? Answer is not many, but he did get more than the other guy, so he got the job. Simple really.

Fact is if they did do a season ticket holder pole and it still pointed to red (as I'm certain it would do) blue people would then say something like non-season ticket holders should have been asked. Then if they asked people on the gates as they came in, and it still pointed to red (again I'm certain it would do) blue people would accuse the stewards of cheating the figures etc.

At the end of the day, the change to red has now got massive support over staying blue, get over it. The initial reaction was bad because of the way in which it leaked out (by someone with his own agenda) and it was a massive shock at the time. People have had time now to digest things and their thoughts have warmed towards changing to red.

I respect both sides and all are entitled to their opinion and they are also entitled to change their opinion. That doesn't make them any less of a supporter to the next guy. The only thing I'll say on the subject is the club has never won a single thing with the Bluebird on the shirt. It has though won the FA Cup and been the force to reckon with in the top flight with a Dragon on there instead.

How the f**k are they parasites? Bit ungrateful considering they 1. Saved us 2. Giving us a bright future via big investment.

Also...how do you know they have gone back on their word? Some are saying the colour stays blue for the coming season.
