ARE YOU WILLING TO COMPRIMISE FOR NOW

Tue Jun 05, 2012 10:09 am

If and it is still a big if, the club do change the clubs colours etc, would you be willing to accept the change as a comprimise for now so it enables the club to move forward financially and possibly secure our future for the long term.

I am against the rebranding structure and would always want to stay blue and keep the badge the same, but im willing to compromise for now to get this so called investment on board and hopefully some time in the future we will get more investment and possible new owners and therefore we could change back to our original colour and then everyone is happy. Just a thought, remember Sam changed the badge, which again i did not agree with but was willing to comprimise, and what happened then, we changed back to the badge we now have, so whats stopping us doing it again, just a thought for everyone. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

we do not need to compromise as we have it in writing that we will remain blue for the forcoming season. :ayatollah:

Don't want to compromise. I certainly don't want a full rebrand! No way in hell.

If I had to the only thing that I would go along with is a Blue and Red strip. But with blue being the main colour with a red trim ect! The badge in my opinion has to stay.

It would appear little or no Championship football is shown in Malaysia/Far East therefore if the compromise was we would change to red on promotion to the Premiership to exploit marketing opportunities then I would reluctantly agree to change

Well if the Malaysian promise is not worth the paper its written on then perhaps this might explain why the talks with Langston have broken down. You may call me naive for believing in them but I was prepared to at least trust the Malaysians to be true to their word. If their word cannot be trusted then we are surely in for some rocky times ahead. :ayatollah:

Something tells me we are being told to kee calm so it can be pushed through with little fanfare.

Once it goes through, it won't go back. So no, not willing to needlessly sell out.

I don't believe it will make any difference what we think.

What will happen will happen. No matter how many stamp their feet.

I would love us to keep the badge and stay blue.
However, I will always be a Cardiff City fan no matter what.
Is the turmoil a matter of normality? Only at City eh?
The club chose me for life! :ayatollah:

You are incorrect. When we initially stamped our feet, the Malaysians halted their plans and told us they did not want to upset us. If this position has now altered then there may be trouble ahead except this time I will be even less likely to give them the benefit of the doubt. :ayatollah:

At first many stamped their feet.
Not so many now I reckon.

Many did not as well. I still think the majority of fans oppose the bluebird being dropped and replaced with a dragon.Anyway we have it in writing that we are staying blue.

Fair enough tB ,but I think i read somewhere that VT owns a pay-per-view channel in Malaysia
and quite a few of our games were shown out there.I don't know if that is true or not.
Anyway,I've had a gutsfull of this whole effing business and am quite prepared for whoever pays
the piper to call the tune, particularly since it seems that Malkey is staying as our manager.

I'd rather stay blue but common sense about the clubs long term future should prevail, if red is the criteria for serious investment - so be it

We are staying in blue, that's been agreed, but we will be in blue away from home. When this re branding issue was first brought up, yes quite a few stamped their feet , but the vast majority said nothing , and now a lot of the foot stampers are agreeing with the quiet majority.
Truthfully how many people will ask for refunds on their season tickets ? If there's more than 200 I'd be really surprised. Less than 100K in lost revenue . A potential £100M investment against £100K in losses .What do you think is going to happen ?
An average gate of 23,000 last season, so even if 2,000 fans are against it enough to stay away, for how long ? Its a gamble our owners are willing to take.
If we are successful next season, they will all be back (reluctantly I admit) but CCFC is like a drug we all need our weekly fix.

What other choice do we have?

I just find it crazy that there is no specific rhyme and reason behind the colour change other than one mans "lucky whim".

Do you think success on the pitch is all down to a colour?

If we are succesful next season it will be f**k all to do with colour.

This quote is the main one that needs clarification from the club I am opened minded for change but I think this statement is ridiculous

2,000 which is what I think the figure would be approximately would be a huge amount of negative publicity for the club and the financial impact could be a lot bigger if it contains many premier club members or box holders who may see it as an opportunity to ditch expensive contracts they no longer want rather than doing it for more deeply held reasons.
