BORING, BORING ENGLAND!

Sun Jun 03, 2012 9:43 am

How dire was that on the eye last night...

belgium had some decent individuals but england just camped in their own half and defended.

thought milner was way off the pace and got caught in possession to many times. if i was any of englands opponents, i would not be worried at all..

i cant see them getting out of their group. lose to france, lose to ukraine, draw with sweden.

The same could have been said of Chelsea and look what they achieved. Granted its very boring to watch but if they some how go on to win the Euro's then I doubt anyone in England are going to complain. It's not a good sign though playing defensively against a very average Norway team, which even Wales smashed, Belgium are good but even still England should be beating them comfortably. They're gonna strugle big time against the likes of Spain, Germany, Holland, etc. Can't wait to see them taken apart by France!

thats what im hoping for.. someone to really destroy them and i think the french will be the ones to do it..

theres no way there are good enough to defend all game against teams like france, spain, germany etc..

i dont remember west brom or fulham playing defensively though when woy was in charge.....

Let's just hope this analysis is correct - a smashing of England by France would be just what the Doctor ordered to take away the gloom

This might be 1990 all over again.

1990 was the last time England went in without the hype.

France are going to maul England. The only reason Norway and Belgium didnt put 3 or 4 past them is because they lack quality up front, they were very fragile and rigid, trademarks of a Hodgson team. With Benzema, Nasri and Ribery, France are going to rip them to shreds.

4th is a pretty solid effort.

Gazza was world class that year.

They had an easy route to the semi.

Agreed Gazza was class.

Anyway, you are missing the point.

England always crash and burn badly when they get hyped to the max.

No hype in 1990 and they almost did it.

hodgson seems to have them playing to their strengths which is solid and organised and yes very boring
theyve entered the previous tournaments since 1990 honestly believing they are as technically sound as the likes of spain, france and holland
A comparison with this years chelsea side is not way off the mark
I do hope they f**k up though, you think all the arseholes come out when wales are playing in rugby, try living in england when the euros or world cup is on-fuckin tragic,

I must say i admire your gall for calling England boring when you think about the dire rubbish that Malky,s City was dishing up,the big difference between England and City were England played dire and won City played dire and didn't win.......and just for the record i doubt England will get past the qualifying stage

Usually the other way around it was mate, as we'd nick a goal and sit back and let the other team have the ball! :) :ayatollah:

:D nukes should be used to seeing 10 men in one half and a bloke on his own up top surrouned by 3defenders.i watched blues under mcliesh so im used to it  seriously i don,t think roy will disgrace us .under hyped for once and hopefully a team that as it,s mainly devoid of the old guard shouldn,t be full of fear of failing (again)

I will say that in 1990 England were helped by injuries.

For example, apart from the Brazil goal, John Barnes never took his Liverpool form over to England.

Barnes got injured and Waddle came in.

Like Gazza, Waddle was class.

England pick up a injury and Roy calls up another Liverpool player?!?!??

LOL. That is very true.

I thought Roy was a better choice than Arry, but I must admit I've lost all faith with his pro Liverpool selection.
