Exactly, what's an extra couple of hundred thousand pounds these days!

Why not go for him, a pound down and £0.50 a week

Seems to be the Cardiff way. Offer just under and miss out on a player. It is good to try and get the best deal possible but f you want a player that much it's got to be worth paying the extra 100/200K.
It's an investment. Look at Turner, the figure we paid and what the club would get if he was sold now. If the club want him then go and get him before other clubs jump in to an auction. Seems to happen a lot !

If he's a top class defender who will go straight into our starting line-up then we should go for it.

If he rejects a contract from coventry they'll let him go for cheaper. it's up to us if we pay 1 million which is too much in my opinion, or wait and hope he rejects a new deal

A Coventry contact of mine says he was their best player overall last season and is probably worth at least a million.

Just offer an add on - on top of the £800k - If we go up £200k extra, if we don't just put an appearances fee in - say 20 games played = £100k and 30 games played pay the remainder?

He must be some player if Coventry value him at £250000 more than they sold Ben Turner to us for
Fri Jun 01, 2012 2:10 pm
f**k it, its not my money! Bid, its only a mil

If we sign this player be it £1.000,000 or £800,000 he aint going to be warming the bench , so who goes out of the back 4?
Could it be super Kev or is Turner on the way ?

Did you see our team from Christmas onwards, they were knackered. Its a squad game.

Southampton used the least amount of players, look where they got to. I dont want us to spend 1m on a player thats not a great deal better than what we have.

None of Southampton's players played as much football as our first team.
When we used squad players they were for fifteen minutes here or there such as Taiwo on for five minutes against Southampton aswell as Keinan on for 20 minutes. Naylor for the game against brum is another example.

Come on Malky up the bid to £1m. I would love to see Keogh down here he would be a fan favourite without a doubt, cause he is the type of player that us City fans love. The people that are saying that Keogh will be a bench warmer obviously have not seen him play a lot, cause if we do sign him - even if we have got McNaughton - he will not be on the bench week in and week out, he is too good for that. This is a player who has won player of the year 3 times in a row, once for Carlisle (2009/10) and twice for Coventry (2010/11, 2011/2012). When Keogh DOES sign, cause I think he will, then that will be piece two of the jigsaw completed with him and Lewis and then hopefully another 7-8 quality players to come in and join the team from last season, I honestly believe that we can go one better and get promoted automatically next season, without a shadow of a doubt.
In Malky I Trust!! In Malky WE Trust!!

Good points, well made. However, I can't see us signing 7-8 players, but more like 4-5 maximum.

In the Echo today it says we are going in with an improved bid.
I think we'll get him.
25 years old too, so plenty of time in front of him and not peaked yet.

Yes we are indeed Tim, early next week the improved offer will go in.

Carl - have you heard any whispers regarding Lewis Mcgugan? Just a little mention I heard not so long ago. Think City may have expressed some interest. However, I'm not entirely sure if they were just asking if there was any chance of him being available etc- without bidding....?

Hope that is not the only deal in the pipeline Carl?
No names obviously but wingers and strikers?
