"SOMETHING TO DISCUSS"

Thu May 31, 2012 8:52 pm

Over the past few weeks, with all the talk of re-branding and investment, there has been much talk about the settling of the Langston loan notes, despite negotiations taking place and a settlement figure being agreed in principal, I understand that there is unlikely to be a deal concluded in the next few months at least, without going into detail about the ins and outs of the proposed settlement, unless there is a change in position for a full and final settlement and not a staged payment strategy then as of now the deal will not be concluded anytime in the immediate future.

With all the talk in the media and bookies placing Malky Mackay as favourite for the Norwich job, I believe that Malky Mackay is concentrating on the job he has started at City and wishes to see that job through, I understand that Malky Mackay and David McNally (Norwich City chief exec) have no history despite both spending time at Celtic but not at e same time, like McNally and Lambert did. Malky is in the middle of changing the whole of this club's set up and personally I would be surprised if he took the Norwich job, if of course he is offered it.

Fans who have been waiting for news on the much anticipated announcement may be surprised to learn that as of Saturday evening just gone, TG and VT had not met to discuss the plans moving forward, I guess we will be waiting a little longer before we hear what the plans are.

The VT and TG meeting I am referring to is regarding the rebranding issue, not the budget for next season, which was discussed at the recent board meeting.

Are there any imminent transfers ahead Carl or is it too early?

A lot of good freebies out there at the moment.

Im glad you put this up now carl tbh as some are getting bashed for saying this already today, lets hope we hear something sooner rather than later regarding what the plan is to move forward. :ayatollah:

I've always thought they are unsure ATM
All the rumours are starting to do my head in. We have some many idiots who will twist rumours so much over and over that people then start to quote it as a truth.

One minute there's a deal now there's not - all news from the same people who obviously have no real clue what's going on but keep teasing us that they do!

There was a deal done verbally even Allan Whitley confirmed that, but once it was being set in stone, how the money was being paid was a totally different matter.

Surely that would have been discussed? It's all good agreeing with a figure but the first thing after agreeing it, I would obviously want to know how it was getting paid. Seems a bit strange if you ask me!

Lets put it this way VT is not the easiest man to do business with and likes to crush people.

Martyn, if you do a deal and the goal posts are moved at the last moment, I would not be happy would u ? especially after uve reduced the money by more than half.

I don't understand, I know they have probably saved a huge amount by getting the figure down and it would benefit us from paying staggered payments but surely it would benefit us more if we got this sorted? The sooner we get rid of this debt the better?

Tan wants and needs City up in the Prem so he can make his money and at the mo with City still in the Championship and still owing him over £40mil then he's just going to carry on as is until we reach the Promised Land ..... I have a feeling he is stalling on Langston until then mind you ?? :ayatollah: :old: :ayatollah:

for sure It will only be worse for the malaysians if we get to the prem though moses? what if sam and pmg turn around and say oh well f**k it i shall take everything now we got lots more money comming in so i will take the stadium naming rites money being one plus the other 18million hes owned on the 10million he wanted to start with which they will not even pay that rite now, pmg are not intrested in anymore shares either they want £££ if tans that serious he will pay them both(at reduced terms that was agreed already ) but changed them again, we should pay them up and lets crack on its that simple, or face another year of the same shit i guess wiht a half completed squad or go for it one or the other if its about him making some money . :ayatollah:

Something has bothered me for a while now. TG released a statement last season where he said that they (the Malaysians) were happy with Championship football and viewed Premiership football as a bonus.

Like anyone else I might have taken the statement out of context, but the lack of desire to conclude the takeover and invest in the team is now making me wonder.

Something ive always wondered about was the..............." advantage of advertising"

IF the Malaysians never owned a football club how much would it cost them to put the names "cosway","beraja group" and the general nationwide wide/world wide "EXPOSURE FOR THEM AS BUISNESSMEN" in the uk get through being involved at cardiff city and being on TV and the back of the echo daily never wide worldwideexposure from wembley appearences???

What im getting as is are they making up for this apparant £1.2m loss a month via benefiting from there other buisness's and buisness not connected to CCFC?....... so as whole are there personally loosing anything at all??

Afterall you look at ANY global company and a vast % of annual revenue is spent on advertising, for example starbucks just spent $95 million and Coca cola spent $2.5 billion before making a penny

So are they loosing a few million on us but benefiting via there other buisness's therefore overall not really loosing any money hence them not being worried or is my interpretation of buiness and advertising all wrong :|

Please dont take this as a dig at the Malaysians as im truly on the fence as to where were heading atm :ayatollah:
