Malky Mackay contracted 2016

He originally had a 3 year deal this time last year.... On the week before the Carling Cup final, Mackay signed a three and half year contract extension, keeping him at Cardiff till June 2016....now that means not a lot in football but I believe that he will stay but if he dosen't that would put a real doubt over reality of the Malaysian intentions...he will know what is in the war chest....if he stays we should be confident for the future.

Just my opinion...but he may just go to a club in the Premier league that he played for during 6 seasons...regardless of our warchest....

Put it this way, I will be far happier if he stays than goes.

Which we wouldn't see.

Could be used to pay the compensation of bringing in another manager. Or could go towards the Langston debt being payed off. Will be a small amount compared to the debt in full but it all counts.

Everyone would want him to stay i think weather or not the malaysians got him on a longer contract and clearly want him to see it out or they wouldnt have offered it to start with before the cup final, money is the key same as any player or any job in life. this will test how strong they are IF norwich come sniffing,

In my opinion Malkays decision{if job becomes available,and he is wanted] will do more to indicate were we are going as a football club than any opinions/rumours posted on messageboards,after all Norwich fecking City are hardly Liverpool.

Norwich are though a premier league club and Malky spent quite a few seasons there as a player.

Who could blame Malky if he went to Norwich? Even though I would want him to stay I think he'd be foolish to turn down the opportunity of managing in the Premier league. If he leaves I don't think it will tell us anymore about the Malaysians intentions. Regardless of any war-chest Malky might get by staying here, managing Norwich in the Premier league is, whether we like it or not, bigger than managing Cardiff in the championship.
