Aaron Ramsey on loan for the season?

Wed May 30, 2012 2:24 pm

There's no question that 99% of CCFC fans would like to see our home town hero back in a bluebirds shirt, even if it was just a season long loan....... His last spell in our team as a loanee saw us go undefeated for 6 games, with him scoring, and pretty much running midfield.

For some reason (and I'm not sure whether it was fitness or injury) He didn't get much of a look in last season IMO, (well not as much as you'd expect anyway) especially towards the back end of the season for Arsenal. Why did Arsene Wenger go off him?

Anyway, my point being - After bidding so far for two players, one being as high as £5.5m - would it not be wiser to use some of that cash to try and get him here if Arsene is persuadable? the lad needs games still, he wants to play, and you just know he'd come here if guaranteed to play every game. Not as if we're steeling him from Arsenal for ever, - Just the promotion push!

I know its wishful thinking, just like to hear your views to see if you think it would be a possible move? or Does Malky not see what us fans see in him as obviously Ramsey is pre-Malky era.....

i wouldnt say that the move is out of the question, he didnt feature much as you say. if arsenal bring in 1 or 2 quality midfielders then why not make an approach...

Simply can't see it happening, he made 44 appearances last season for Arsenal.

In all honesty, I don't think he's quite good enough to be in the starting line-up of a team looking to win the Premier League.

Then again, he's too good for the Championship.

Would be one hell of a signing if Wenger's willing to let him go.

agree, but he didnt feature much towards the end of the season and made 9 apps as a sub..

i suppose it depends on whether arsenal bring in anybody who they see as better.

It'll be tough for Aaron next year at Arsenal. Especially if they keep Van Persie and play 4-5-1 because the midfield can look something like

--------------Rosicky----------Arteta--------
Chamberlain-------Wilshere--------Podolski
---------------------Van Persie------------------

Which would leave Aaron to compete with Song, Frimpong, Gervinho etc for a place on the bench

This would be amazing!! However what is it about us that wants our old players back again, all of the time, I would obviously love it but sometimes (which I know is hard) we got to move on!!

Maybe Bellamy

Imagine Bellamy and Ramsey

This being my point.

I know it is a BIG ask, and probably almost 99% chance of not happening. But when you look at that above, Is it worth offering Wenger the chance to let his lads play 100% of our games - as he is still a young player and still has hell of a lot to learn! Bellamy, Whitts, Ramsey, Gunnarsson, Cowie, Conway, Harris makes me cream my pants!!

He played for Arsenal when he was fit. The times he wasn't in the side he was injured. Wenger rates him very highly and the Arsenal fans are warming to him. His absence resulted in a bit of a bad run of form and they realised how good he was.

We have no chance of getting him here on loan.

The probable reason why he didn't play towards the end of the season was down to fitness. Looked really jaded last couple of months and lacked that sharpness he had. He will still get games next season specially as wilshire is set for surgery which will keep him out for a few months. Would love to see him back

Still surprised he chose Arsenal over Manchester United :?:

The Arsenal fans were giving him a hard time at the end of the season and a lot of them don't rate him. Have a look at the Gunners message boards. I can't see him wanting to step down to the Championship.

Well. stranger things have happened - e.g. the signing of Bellamy and the Jacks getting lucky in the play offs....

Arsenal have bid £3m for Joe Allen.
Never say never.

Would absolutely love it but can't see it happening.

Would be great! However (slightly off topic) I know Mr Matthews would like to come back.

Never going to happen! He's a established player at Arsenal who played too many games by the end of the season

Never really rated him tbh.

I would love to get Rambo back but I can't see Wenger letting him go as he played so many games for Arsenal last season and financially we probably wouldn't be able to afford it.

I love Bellers as well, but if I could choose, I'd have Rambo on loan for the season instead as I think he can control games in the championship. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I wish the boy would have joined United....

I think it could happen. Toward the end of the season he was fit and until Arteta got injured he wasn't in the team for a couple of months at least.

Arsenal have signed Yann M'Vila and Lukas Podolski already. M'Vila is a true sitting midfielder and it's a move designed to push Song forward I think.

Someone made the point above about the competition and it's easily the most important point, Gooners have been really unimpressed since he came back from his leg break.

The Echo should start the rumour, they normally just steal message board stories anyway!

I would kiss Arsene Wenger's arse multiple times if this happened, but it definitely won't.
