Confirmed: Possible Takeover With Bid On The Table
The Leeds United Supporters Trust have confirmed that there is ‘firm’ interest in buying the club on Twitter in a series of tweets:
We are aware that there is a bid on the table. At the moment in time we cannot say anything further. #lufc #twitterwhites #TOMA
We can also confirm that we have held talks with two interested parties #lufc #twitterwhites #TOMA
Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening Post also tweeted his understanding of the situation:
Re tweets about investment/takeovers at #lufc – I’m aware of firm interest but still trying to establish full details
Been told of two separate parties who are interested in #lufc, one seems to be much further down the line than the other.
Has to be said that at this stage I’ve no idea how likely either is to come to anything. Seen so many takeover rumours in the past few years

I though leeds were secretly owned by a group of shady businessmen who used ken Bates as their figurehead to avoid premier league/football league investigation?
If that's the case then why would they sell? Unless it's the shady businessmen that are officially taking over the club from bates now they feel they have a good chance of premier league football?

Fancy Leeds for promotion next season. Warnock will have sorted them out over the summer. If they can also sort out the finances, then they should be a force. They will probably play in white, as well.

I;m not convinced. A lot of their big players are out of contract/having contract disputes and are likely to be sold. Bates wouldn't risk losing a player to a free next season on the off chance they get prem under Warnock. I expect them to be mid table next season with Warnock leaving due to broken promises.

I can see big investors going in to Leeds.

Big city, with just one club so massive fan base. Only a matter of time cos they hate Chelsea Bates.
If they get money to spend then thats one less promotion place to play for next year.
Wonder if Warnock would go for Barton and Kenny?!
