Following the sudden and sad death of massive Bluebirds fan Roy Chesterman, I have been asked to post a heartfelt thank you on behalf of both Phil Price and Roy’s brother Ron, for the kind and comforting messages, posted on this board following his devastating passing late last Saturday night, the 19th May.
Both would also like to take this opportunity to make all friends of Roy’s aware of the funeral arrangements, with the service set to take place this coming Thursday, 31st May.
Although the initial funeral service itself will be a private, family only event, back home in New Tredegar - All friends of Roy from his home town, adopted city of Worcester, Welsh FA coaching and refereeing days, and wider family of supporters of Cardiff City (that he cherished so much) are invited to attend Brithdir Cemetery, New Tredegar (postcode NP24 6JY) at 12 noon for the burial service.
This will be followed by a celebration of Roy’s life, a raising of glasses, and more than a story or two in remembrance of the wonderful character that was Roy. This will take place at The Royal British Legion, 54-56, Queens Road, New Tredegar, NP24 6DZ, from c12:30/1pm onwards.
Finally, much respect and gratitude to you all from Phil and Roy’s family, who have drawn great strength from the unity and kind words posted on this board over the last few days – It would be wonderful to see you and all Bluebirds friends this coming Thursday.
RIP Roy
