Sell Whittingham?

I'm convinced we should sell him this summer tbh. I know I said we should keep him before, but the benefits outweigh the negatives. Could fetch a nice price from lower prem clubs and he is nearing his peak now, easily get 4M or more to strengthen our squads depth and he always does seem to tail off. Get McGugan with the money and we have got a like for like player, who will cost less, having made a profit, good business all round and Whitts could get agitated staying in the champ, would be bad for the team.

Never rates mcgugan and I don't think he'd get in our team even without Witts.

Not many players have the consultancy of Witts for goals and assists every season. I think it's vital he stays but we must have other options to give him a rest from time to time.

yeah lets sell our best player and bring in an overrated player who only scored 3 league goals last season. pure genius.

Ok then, replace the McGugan part with a creative player of your choosing who will be happy here while making a profit. Not impossible.

He is the heartbeat of our team. I agree we need another creative midfielder but for cover more than anything

As we had little inspiration or creativity in a team of workers he had to play all those games.

Try marking Whitts out of the game if we had Bellers and another speed merchant either side of Joe Mason.

This in not a dig at the Jacks, but Joe Allen is nowhere near as good as Whitts but the attacking formation Brenda sets up allows him hell of a lot of time on the ball, if Whitts had this much time we defiantly will struggle to keep hold of him.

Like I said I'm weighing it up. I think theres more to gain from selling and re investing than clinging onto him

Yes but it took several years untill Whitts started becoming more of a key player and showing his abilities. If we get the same it wont be helpful aiming for promotion
