Froch V Bute

Thu May 24, 2012 11:54 pm

Carl Froch V Lucian Bute Saturday night isn't going to be a chess match, it isn't going to be a tight tactical affair, it's going to be a war.
Carl has power and a fairly good chin,His boxing skills are better than many give him credit for but they are not as sharp and classy as he claims them to be.
Lucian to date has proved he is one of the most powerfull fighters in the division and whilst there are many unanswered questions regarding his stamina and his chin late on in his fights, I rate him a the legitimate No2 in the division behind the ever impressive and improving Andre S.O.G Ward.

Carl will claim the home advantage and the Notts will no doubt be vocal for the home town boy, However the Romainian will be unfazed by this. He has travelled well to date in his career fighting all around the globe.

Where the fight can be won:-

Carl will need to apply relentless pressure and keep Lucian moving so that his question stamina will again come into play, also Bute had an infected toe all but ten days ago so his preparation has been disrupted. If he does this as well as keeping his work rate up he could stop him late on.
Lucian will look for a K.O it's really that simple, his power southpaw stance lures the opponent in and his left uppercut and body punching can really be damaging. Carl's chin has stood the test to date but I don't think he will have tasted anyone with the power Bute possesses.

Prediction:-
Bute K.O or TKO
Otherwise Froch will take a weak home Judging decision.

Joe was still active when Carl was chasing a fight.

If Carl had kept his head down and focused more on his own career path and not Joe's, who knows he may of got a title fight sooner.

Never wanna see a Brit lose a title fight, however I think Lucian Bute Is an alround better fighter than Carl Froch.

Bute has only ever fought in Canada.Apart from the one time when he fought in the States, but that was 9 years ago. He's a homer and will get his arse kicked by Froch. He was forced into the fight and usually wouldn't go anywhere near someone of Froch's talent.Think Sven Ottke,Darius Michaelesewski and you won't be far off.Bloated and padded fight record.

Froch by UD.

to be fair to him, his level of opposition has been alright in the last few years, he hasnt fought the top level fighters that Froch has though.

He did beat Glen Johnson a lot more convincingly than Froch did,

He's a talented lad,no doubt and yes he dominated the awkward Johnson but Glencoffe can make the very best look average and the very worst look like worldbeaters.I'd be amazed if Bute took the title back to Canada with him come tomorrow night.

I never understand this "I want this person to win because he's british". I just want the better person to win, wherever he's from. I wanted Klitschko to beat Haye and my feelings are similar with this fight. Froch talks a good fight and he is a good fighter but I can't stand his cockiness and arrogance. He thinks if he wins this fight he will be a superstar and a legend? I mean really? I hope Bute knocks Froch out to bring him down a peg or two.

Credit has to be given where and when it's due.
Froch proved to me last night he can up his game to a whole new level (against a certain style of fighter)
His best performance since the Pascal bout. And a fantastic comeback fight against the slick Andre Ward.

Should and Could Andre Ward head to the UK for a rematch?
With Kesslers stunning K.O over Allan Green set up a rematch with the Cobra?

As for the JCvCF threads,

Froch has struggled against speedy classy fighters like Ward and Dirrell in the past,
while Joe was a Speedy Classy fighter who retired 46-0, so there's your answer!!

Bute looked like a f*cking bum.

Canada sucks.

It will be Intresting to see the fall out from this, will they discredit Bute like they did Lacy?

He has a rematch clause in Canada so time will tell

bute will stay a million miles away from froch after that
frochs last 8 fights pascal, taylor, dirrell, kessler, abraham, johnson, ward, bute, As an elite fighter of the last few decades had a tougher sequence then that ?

Re: Froch V Bute

Sun May 27, 2012 9:21 am

There will be no rematch ffs  Bute wouldn't want it after that demolition.Kessler vFroch in Nottingham is the only fight out there now for Froch.

Be realistic folks..
You have a legitimate TOE injury and it was his big toe so that would affect his equilibrium,
He has right to Rematch being the (former)champion and you can bet your ass when this fight was agreed and contract signed it was to be fought in Canada.

Kessler is operating at light heavy now so he might focus his attention to Cleverly.

Froch is light at super middle but heavy handed, wouldn't see him making much impact at Light Heavyweight.

For those calling BUTE a BUM need a slap, bum's don't get 30-0 records and they certainly don't stand applauding their opponent as the are declared winner and lift belt.

Bute Is a class fighter and was soundly beaten by a very good/class fighter.

Calazghe wasn't a puncher and he done ok at LH,albeit a short lived stint.I tend to agree with you regarding Froch at LH though as he relies on his power more than his boxing skills, and if they're taken away then he'd struggle up there.Kessler was at the fight last night calling out Froch so a fight at LH could be made. That way 2 SuperMiddles meeting at LH,happy days.

And come on dude,Bute was limited.I said on this thread that his record is padded and full of blown up Middleweights like Joppy and Miranda.I thought he looked a decent European fighter but was way out of his depth right at the top and against Froch.

I honestly believe he wouldnt want to fight Froch ever again, knowing that Froch travels well too.

Unless your a powerbroker you ain't gonna pick your fighters, every fighter at some point has been padded.

I remember a German with a good unbeaten rep coming over and getting whipped by Joe
I remember a yank with a good unbeaten rep getting whipped by Joe.
I witnessed a romainian/Canadian with a good unbeaten rep get whipped by Carl.

By the looks of things all three opponents are crap.

The German was Veit and yes he did flatter to deceive.
The Yank was Lacy and Pre joe he was the next big thing the light Tyson.
What will BUTE be?
