I went to sunny beach on a lads holiday and we had a great time. Not really that cheap anymore though and we ended up fighting with local gypsies a few times

Cheers for the advice. So you wouldn't recommend all inclusive?

I'm currently in Sofia, here around two weeks a month on average for work. Lived in Targovishte for nine months a couple of years ago which is about half way between here and Vana, a lovely part of the country. As to holidays, depends what you want, the Black Sea coast is excellent literally all the way down from Vana past Bougas to the Turkish Border. Has its share of new build holiday resorts like Sunny Beech but there are other places not too far away where life is quieter. Inland from the coast is very similar to mid Wales but much, much warmer although avoid certain smaller villages due to the gypo problems, most are fine but there are one or two I would avoid.

I'm pretty sure someone on here has an apartment on the Black Sea somewhere so he's be ideal for info out that way. You need to know about Sofia just ask.

We had a 5.6 earthquake early Tuesday morning which doesn't appear to have been covered by UK news channels and still the odd after shock, ground moving that is not the commercially available alcoholic shite

all inclusive is still worth it for the beer and if you got kids the soft drinks plus there will always be something you like to eat i dont think theres much difference in price to self catering anyway to be honest

I have 2 large apartments there with swimming pool, 5 mins from beach and central. I dont rent them. Ive been going there regular for 8 years now. In Bulgarian bars pints of lager were 50p, more expensive bars with dancing girls £1.30 a pint. Meals roughly £2 to £4 depending on where you eat. The Condor bar offers cocktails for £3.
Good thing is the exchange rate is much higher than last year which was 2.20 levs to the pound.
I wouldnt go for all inclusive, but thats my view. :ayatollah:
