Scouting off to mainland Europe, sorry but it is a joke paying 5.5M for Rodriguez when you can get a better player form Germany or Netherlands or another strong European league, or one that produces good youngsters like Poland/Czech Rep.
I mean, Swansea got Vorm for peanuts when you put it into context, by looking abroad, had they wanted a good keeper in Britain it would have cost them a few million more. Now, hopefully we can do something similar, because there are turd clubs like Burnley artificially inflating the market charging extortionate prices

It vexes me when people say "sorry but.." It's rife on this board.. Why are you apologising to me!? Why can't you say what you want without apologising.
Sorry but that's just how I feel.

Although I think Rodriguez would be a good signing, I completely agree that £5.5m is crazy money and there's good young prospects elsewhere. Hope the fee slated for Rodriguez is just conjecture.

You're right. How about a nice "f**k you here's my point" instead?

I agree its alot of money for Rodriguez but he is a proven striker at this level who we know will score goals. You could bring in a younger player for the continent who may have to settle in, assuming they ever will. 5.5 million is alot of cash but as i said its the price of garenteed goals.

I think when you compare it with Newcastle paying 8 million for Cisse, Man Utd paying just over 7 million for Hernandez, Fulham paying 3 million for Pogrebnyak and some of the bargains Arsene Wenger in particular has picked up from abroad (Emmanuel Petit - 2.5 million, Patrick Vieira - 3.5 million, Van Persie - 2.75 million), 5.5 million for Rodriguez is way overpriced.

Sigh at all these people taking rumours seriously and saying get rid etc. get a grip.
There is nothing official that we have put a bid in of 5.5 mill.
Malky has confirmed he is scouring Europe to add strength and depth in all required areas.
Anyone in the know would tell you that a good starting bid for jay would be around the 3mill. Marker CCFC would not go in with such a high bid. It would be ludicrous.
