It's not the club mate, its greedy agents stirring up interest in the player, age old trick.

My money is on they sell him, will we get him who knows but MM is setting the bar exactly where we need it to be if we are looking to build a promotion team.
Just after the end of the season Eddie Howe was interviewed by BBC and he said he wanted any player movements, in or out, sorted as soon as possible. For me Jay Rodriguez falls into the get sorted or moved on category and for me there is no way Eddie Howe will do a Wenger and sit until the week before the transfer window closes before selling one of his best players. No way.
The truth is if Jay Rodriguez doesn't accept a new contract offer he is for sale and we should be congratulating MM for targeting a player like this. It doesn't mean we will get him but any offer above £2m for this player would be very tempting for Burnley.
Can't believe anyone would doubt that this player is not a geniune target for MM, but then again we are Cardiff fans and if we signed Ronaldo, Messi and Ageuro some people on this board would find a reason why we don't need them.
Unbelievable.

I can agree on that with agents.

Can't remember our transfer Record? was it Peter Thorne/Chopra (depending on method of payment)?
Our owners are still struggling to find a way to pay Langston £10m (a greatly reduced historic debt!) so where are we going to get £5.5m to pay for one player?
If this comes off - I'll eat a fecking hat shop!

cos lets be fair, Miller can't hit a Cows arse with a banjo at the moment!
I'm not doubting we are targeting him, But why didn't we match Bolton's offer for Sordell if we now have all this money - 2 quality players in January - and we might already be in the premiership.....

Surely that's the point in looking at deals now.
I love the way people are so quick to have a dig at the club and manager based on pure speculation.
As for the article abovedenying a bid was made, when no one has said a bid was being made, just prepared.
Even that just speculation off icwales who lets be honest are a load of shit anyway.

Burnley's outgoing chairman Barry Kilby has said the club have not received any bids for star striker Jay Rodriguez.
Manager Eddie Howe admitted in April that he expected sizeable offers for the 22-year-old, who scored 21 goals for the Clarets last season.
But Kilby told BBC Radio Lancashire: "Nobody has contacted us.
"What happens at this time of year, in my experience, is that agents plant things in newspapers. Nobody's been onto us officially."
Kilby added: "Jay is still here as a Burnley player and, until somebody contacts us, we can't react."
Newcastle and Cardiff are among the clubs that have been linked with a move for Rodriguez, who was named in the Championship team of the year by the Professional Footballers Association last month after a prolific season for Burnley.
But for a 25-minute substitute appearance against Bristol City on the final day of the campaign, he missed the last month of the season with a groin problem.
Kilby is stepping down after nearly 14 years as chairman at Turf Moor after being diagnosed with cancer in February.

Its all bollocks, even if we did put a £5.5million bid. We know full well that he'd go to a prem club, another smoke screen and propaganda by our club to boost profile and season ticket sales.
