Anyone been to thialand

I've persuaded the wife to go late October
Just need some advice. Best place to go for a combination of beach and a bit of sightseeing
Hotels aswell would be a bonus

I would recommend a few days in Bangkok for sightseeing and shopping then either Phuket or koh samui for the beaches take your pick, sawadee.com and asiarooms.com are to very good websites for hotels

I'm there now mate. Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Koh Samui would be a perfect mixture

Thailand was the best place I've ever been. I recommend Koh samet, Koh chang, Parts of bangkok.

Mate go twice a year...bangkok is total head work..busy and hot and your kids will hate ir..but good shoping..pattaya not si good for kids..ko samui is stunning but thats were every one goes and gets busy and expensive as so dose crabi and phuket..but again stunning beaches..chang mai is cooler but a long way north..the best blace i went was ko chang ..its a island down the other side of thailand ..u can do elephant treking fishing and all sorts of boat and fishing trips there and as it aint as busy as the others it cheaper but still nany tourests therw..white sand beach i stay and has every thing u need..but best look up on the net as these places are 5.6.and 7 hours away ..
But bangkok is f*cking hectic as f**k and will drive y nuts in a day or 2 but saying that the sight seei g there is good but just to busy...
Allso u can take a boat trip down rhe river kwai wwre the beitish prisiners of war built the bridg....thats nice ..

Rainy season around then too...floods when I last went.

pattaya for sight seeing,cause you see some sights there,not the place to take your wife mind

Get the overnight train from Bangkok to Surat Thani and you can get to the islands on the east coast in the gulf of Thailand (Ko Samui and Ko Phangan) or Krabi region over on the West coast (Ko Lanta, Ko Phi Phi) and I would highly recommend Railay Beach - here's what it looks like

I spend six months a year in Ubon ,I would look at Hua Hin close to BKK and not the travelling involved going to the islands in the south .These islands are now becoming over comercialized especially Phuket but i'm sure you will enjoy wherever you go
