The fire that killed 6 kids

Wed May 16, 2012 5:04 pm

Confirmed now that it was started with petrol.

It makes me feel sick to the stomach!! Surely we need to have the death penalty for that

This world can be one sick sick place at times, six little kids, how do religious people reconcile or make any bloody sense of things like this. Broke my heart seeing their parents on the box. :(

They will catch him/her no doubt about that :ayatollah: :ayatollah: And we moan about a shirt colour when things like this happen brings it all into perspective.

They will be caught without a doubt but the punishment they get will be nothing compared to the pain and suffering they have caused.

Just shows what some sick people are capable of.

Gotta feel for the parents , to lose one child is horrible but to lose 6 I cant even begin to imagine it.

A terrible tragedy no doubt, but the death penalty is never just.

It's just for that surely and I would love to watch the c**t die!! Eye for an eye tooth for a tooth in my opinion!! I would want him burnt to death just like his victims did! Not sat in a cell playing f*cking computer games

"Taking a life when a life has been taken is revenge, not justice." <I agree with that. Capitial punishment has no discernible benefits.

In what way? Will it bring their children back? No.

(P.S I'm perfectly content with my present head)

Well there we go!!! This is why this shit happens because the death penalty has no benefits!!!

Well done sir hope you enjoy your thoughts on life

I hope vigilantes find out who are responsible and torture the fucker(s) to death.

As for the death penalty; i'm wholey against it unless any wrong has been done upon children. Anybody who hurts a child deserves a slow and painful death.

Do you have any evidence/studies/facts to support that point?

Because I have a case to disprove it, it is called the United States. Why don't you visit, any one, of the States which still, or have, implemented the death penalty and then study their crime rates. Guess what? They have more crime! Furthermore, rates have not increased after the removal of the death penalty. So your argument that 'shit happens' because there is no death penalty is completely invalid.

Will do, thank you.

Yes mate, they didn't just hurt a child though they burnt 6 of them to death!!

He or she has to die in my opinion and in the same way as his victims did!!

It's quite simple really however others think the should have a nice long cosy sentence

So much is wrong with this. 1) You can never be 100% certain. 2) Hanging? Just no. We've moved on.

I think you been watching too much green mile mate!

It's so simple really. If your guilty of burning 6 kids to death you should die in the same way!

Now I know what your thinking!! "how do you know said person is guilty? "

But what I would ask is if he is guilty does he deserve to still live in prison?!!

What I am saying is if the evidence is overwhelming then he should perish in fire!! Because that's what he deserves.

Sorry mate but that chap spends most of his time on comedy shows.

So let's get it right here! How do you know there guilty? You don't!

But how the mother f**k do you know there innocent??? You don't!!! So what I am saying is if the evidence is overwhelming and nailed on then they should die!!!

Never mind the past mate in talking here and now!!

Maybe you want to have a chat with the poor parents and there siblings who have lost brothers and sisters and lets see how you feel about your comedian on you tube then

Time for you to learn a few things, you ignorant imbecile.

Ian Hislop is not a Comedian by trade. He is the editor of 'Private Eye' (amongst other publications) and has been for many years, he is also a writer, broadcaster and well-respected journalist. It just so happens he has a sense of humor alongside. His opinion is well-informed unlike yours.

You just confessed that it is impossible to fully ascertain whether or not they are guilty. That is why they shouldn't be killed. Are you suggesting that those who have been wrongly convicted deserve death? Sooner or later, innocent people will get killed, because of mistakes or flaws in the justice system.Witnesses, (where they are part of the process), prosecutors and jurors can all make mistakes. When this is coupled with flaws in the system it is inevitable that innocent people will be convicted of crimes. Where capital punishment is used such mistakes cannot be put right. An individual can be released from prison, but not death.

My main anger is aimed at the criminal justice and penal system. For example, someone above stated that they favour the death penalty because the accused will be released far too early. Surely a more reasonable approach is to reform this justice system? Increase the amount of life-sentences that are actually served, get rid of all prison luxuries, minimise reduction in sentences, limit parole, I could go on. I believe people should focus on reforming this flawed system before immediately calling for the death penalty. Besides, surely it would be far worse to serve 65 years in a cell, with no luxuries or contact with the outside world, than face a totally painless lethal injection?

I do not know the parents, however I'm sure their main priority is overcoming this terrible tragedy.

Of course you did.

I can most definitely live with myself, providing I am not wrongly convicted of a crime, sentenced to death, and then found to be innocent afterwards. Then I won't be living at all.
