The debt to Ray Ranson

Wed May 16, 2012 5:42 am

I see this debt hasn't reared its ugly head throughout these talks.

Anyone know anything about whats happening there...?

When the rumours started about the debts being paid off. It was suggested that Ransons would remain. Don't know why thought.

I always thought that Ransons debt would be paid back from a percentage of any transfer fee received.

Isn't it interest free and therefore if we don't sell anyone mortgaged to him then its not actually costing us anything.

No need for it to he paid off really, it doesn't gain interest.

No, not totally, but there is no interest on this loan.

Is that 100% because surely a man of Ray Ransons business knowledge he would surely put another clause in the agreement just in case players didn't leave for a price..?

The Riddler done the deal and borrowed more on it. I can only tell you what Allan Whitley stated last week to us.

Annis

I agree with you on this - and that`s not a phrase I use often as you know.

The initial deal was great for them when Ridsdale signed it because it had a riculously high rate of interest - the debt went up by 50% in the year to 31 May 2011 even though it wasn`t in force for the whole year so the annual rate was even higher.

The renegotiated deal (I can only guess that they were pursuaded they didn`t have a cat in hell`s chance of getting their money back as an unsecured creditor no matter how much interest they charged) meant that the interest stopped but instead they could be repaid because they were given first charge over player transfer fees received - not control over who is sold or for how much, just the right to the money when received.

If the club now moves ahead with its plans to invest in a squad good enough to get to the Premier League , then players sold will not be missed that much as they will need to be replaced with better ones. If the plans don`t go ahead , then players will have to be sold as a cost cutting exercise so paying off one secured creditor up to £3.5m will be only one of a number of major issues to be dealt with.

On one of the topics that I disagree with tonight , what happened with the deletion of the Steve Borley thread where he said there is no truth in the Kenny Yeung story?

I understand that mate but no-one in their right mind would offer a loan to the Riddler for millions of pounds without having some kind of clause against the club.

Ray Ranson was an 'unsecured creditor..?' I'm absolutely stunned

I think it says in the accounts.
Would be foolish to pay it off in one lump when this money could be making interest in an account.

Most people have debts, that's not a problem, Langston and pmg are.

Ray Ranson is no problem at all, not even worth a mention.

Of course its worth a mention because it clearly means that the claim that the £100 million will clear all the debts is incorrect. Ask yourself this..? What else 'maybe' incorrect from what we have heard over the last few days..?

I'm not sure what you've been reading but everything I've read said the club will be virtually debt free. There is a key word in there being virtually.

And we will still be accumulating debt year on year though yes?

currently £1.3 million a month and £15 million a year + whatever wages our new players get....

correct?

this debt free thing is nonsense.
