Blue then Red

Tue May 15, 2012 11:45 pm

As someone who has no issues playing in Red as I strongly believe in the potential business advantages it can bring, I would be very happy indeed if the £100m investment did go ahead as VT originally planned.

I do however feel that its more and more likely that we will be playing in Blue next year as I can't see the Malaysians doing another about turn particularly on the back of the statement they issued. I would however fully expect us to then be playing in red from the 2013-2014 season.

I wouldn't be surprised if the £100m investment is then phased over a longer period with an initial investment made Year 1 and then a further investment made when promotion to the Premiership has been achieved hopefully in Year 2 along the lines below:-

Season 2012-2013

- Home strip to be Blue
- Away strip to be Red
- Badge to be predominantly a Dragon but also containing a Bluebird
- Investment made by VT although not the full £100m
- Langstone debt repaid and all debts turned into equity
- Malky to be given funds to get the team in the Premiership

Season 2013-2014

- Home strip to be Red
- Away strip to be Blue
- Badge to be predominantly a Dragon but also containing a Bluebird
- Additional investment to be made by VT or possibly new investors maybe from China
- Stadium upgrade completed in readiness for Premiership campaign
- Training facilities completed

The 100m investment will not happen, but I'm just hearing, nothing official

Good post, sounds like a decent attempt as what could happen.
Fair play. :ayatollah:

Agreed, as long as there is a club to support.
There is no other option without the investment. (unless you have a few quid?) :o

I have to be honest here, I have not seen anyone getting carried away with whats to be invested.
Most (well a lot of) the amount to be invested has already been put into the club anyway, but will be turned into equity. So no-one is under the illusion that the club will be awash with cash.

I actually don't want them to invest massive sums in a short time.

It would be far better to build slowly and consolidate.

QPR have spent a fortune and just stayed up while Norwich have done it more slowly and finished mid table.

I'm confident Malky won't do anything stupid.
