If West Ham go up

Sun May 13, 2012 5:16 pm

Who will challenge for the Championship next year? Blackpool? Leicester? Wolves? Middlesbrough?

Now that QPR are safe no real big-money/player sides that I can see tearing apart the league, Bolton and Blackburn I can't see doing that well maybe not Wolves either unless the hang on to players like Kightly, Jarvis etc. If Mandaric backs Jones they might be decent but I definitely can't see them storming the league, looks like Birmingham might struggle next year as well I'm not really sure on them, then there's Leeds who might be good under Warnock. Basically there's a few sides that could be up there like play-off material but no one stands out for me.

Back Malky this year and I can see us going up through autos :ayatollah:

Leeds I think will definately challenge for one of those auto spots, if not play-offs. :old:

It depends though, they weren't very good at the end of last season although Warnock had little time to have an affect. Bates is known for being very conservative in his spending and Grayson wasn't happy about not being backed in the market, will he be willing to back Warnock?

Tough to say really. Lets wait and see what happens in the Summer with ins and outs! :ayatollah:

We all know Warnock is a great manager and a great motivator! I don't think half of the players he had towards the end of this season were his type, that's why he is having a huge clearout. I'm sure Colonel Sanders (Bates) will give him lots of funds :ayatollah:

Of course, just thinking though with Reading going up (rich owner now), QPR staying up and West Ham potentially going up it could benefit us, I remember Polo i think talking about how the league standard has declined, it certainly seems to be with the teams coming down this year.

I think DJ will get Sheff Wed thereabouts - there's always one of the newly promoted sides that deos well. Mandaric is not known for throwing money around in recent years though, so doubt he will get mega bucks. Can see Heaton going there and maybe Quinn and thats another load of lost transfer fees for us...

I wouldn't be surprised to see any of Heaton, Quinn, Gerrard, Naylor or Earnshaw go there, I think all were his signings not sure about Earnshaw but think he was trying to get him before Malky came in?
