MEHMET DALMAN

Sat May 12, 2012 2:37 am

I wonder if anyone can help me here, not so long ago i read that mehmet dalman joined our board of directors.
Firstly can anyone confirm he is on the board?
Is this the same mehmet dalman I believe owned a 20% share in man UTD until the glazers buyout?
If mehmet is on board why is he on board? What is role? Is he a potential investor or was he brought in for commercial reasons ie marketing the re brand idea?

Would live to know his actual involvement with the club!!

Yea me to. Thought we had bought him in as our football guy, due to the Malaysians not knowing too much about the business.

He is definitely on the board!
I would suggest he was brought in to 1, broker a deal between the club and its current debtors (prioritising Langston!) 2, To offer his vast experience in marketing and maximising a businesses income. Whether he had any input into recent ideas of the rebranding plan or red-shirt marketing in the far east is anyones guest. I dont think he was a major player in this tbh, being cypriot I dont think he would have quite as much knowledge of the cultures of malaysia and the far east as both Tan and Tien Ghee. However, I may be totally wrong. Just my opinion.

Good post merlin my thoughts also the thing is only time will tell, I know he made tens of millions marketing man utd brand overseas so who knows if he had a finger in this whole red thing. Then again this has been in the pipe line for a year and he wasn't even on the board then. Time will tell. :ayatollah:
