If the fans who wanted us to keep bluebirds and have a bluebird badge but our home kit changes to red dont you think we'll look a bit stupid with a red home kit and everyone shouting bluebirds surely 1 of the main reason that were shouting bluebirds is that the kit is blue.. or will it be blue and red or is it undecided??

At away games, when we have played in White, Black and Yellow, Red, 3rd strip Green, yellow etc etc..... Have we ever stopped calling them Bluebirds?!

I don't understand the shirt colour bit . Blue Bird as the one so ably demonstrated above ^^^^^ CardiffCityForum ^^^^^^^ He has changed shape, direction and probably sex over the last 60 years but has always been blue whatever the shirt colour.

When was he introduced onto the badge ?

Sunderland are nicknamed both the 'mackems' and the 'black cats'. Black cats have feautred on their crest in one way or another since the name was given. The nickname was given after they were formed, hence no black shirts - although they do have black shorts.

All in all, not a very good comparison.

Black and yellow the colour of our countrs patron saint, also a combination of colours no one else has - so very good for away shirt

I thought we are called bluebirds because of the bluebird on our badge not the colour of our kit and i think they are keeping a bluebird on the badge ,

As my girlfriend informed me, we were named after a play of the same name that was on in Cardiff at the time. The name stuck because we wore blue.

fair enough but the bluebird must have been put on our badge to signify that as well so if we keep the bluebird on the badge wont be a bad thing,

I know what the Yellow & black are, Im just saying there is nothing in them colours that says Bluebirds, or if its cos Black with Yellow cross is the flag of Dewi Sant, then you also have to look at Red is the colour of Y Ddraig Goch, the Red dragon of Wales . So ? As long as we have a bluebird on the shirt thats cool

I believe that is the case, yes. It was put on the crest at a later date - but the club still chose to play in blue shirts when it was permitted to become a 'proper' football club by changing the name to Cardiff City. It was obviously for a reason I would assume, and with the intention that CCFC would be a blue football team for as long as it existed.
