Smokescreen for the real hurt

Fri May 11, 2012 3:31 am

I think there is quite an easy way to interpret what has happened in the last few days. The reality is that, however much we can say that it was a good season that exceeded expectations, the fact remains that for the fourth successive season we suffered play-off heartache, and yet again we are facing another tough season in the Championship while the gloating Jacks will again be playing in the league above us. So then this bizarre story came along and hit us all for six. If you're going to psychoanalyze things, you could say that it preyed upon us subconsciously when we were weak and made us think and say things we might not have meant due to an existing feeling of hurt.

Reaching the premiership might be a dream to aspire to in reality, but rest assured that when you die, you will go to Bluebird heaven, and we all know what that is: the great Ninian Park in the sky, where you will pay your £8 to a friendly face at the turnstiles (bit expensive, but we did go up the season before, after all), before taking your place on the Bob Bank/Canton stand/Grandstand/Grange End.
