That Stupid Petition, Who was responsible??

Thu May 10, 2012 8:21 pm

The damn rite stupid idea of a petition against the changes to badge and Kit colour from Blue to Red, Who was responsible for that???
Will anybody own up to that or you gone into hiding??
Was it so important to draw up a petition to voice your concerns against the Malaysian ideas to take our club foward.
Over 2000 signed up to it apparantly, WHY?????
Why do some fans think they're SO influential, when really we're ALL the same.

This is how democracy works, next you'll be saying why do bother to have elections...

People were against it, so they had a petition.

We live in Britain, it is a democracy. We don't live under the Malysian government (and no, that isn't racism, merely a sleight against that countries woeful human rights record). We are allowed to have opinions.

I don't see the problem in a petition, it's a simple and easy way of expressing your opinion over a subject and an easy way to see how many people agree with it. Whilst you may not agree with why people signed it, they are entitled to sign it and give their opinion, there was nothing racist or offensive in it was there?

Lets calm down here. The petition was polite and respectful, simply explaining that we were concerned about the changes.

Thats fair enough but look where we could end up, with the Malaysians pulling the plug.
The so-called racist remarks are now being made out as the sole reason this could all be jeopardised, I 100% agree there is no place for racist remarks whatever the situation but are the 2000+ signatories of the petition still happy with their input. Why didn't everyone just wait and see what the malaysians had planned before jumping in feet first.

That particular poll was made far, far too early. People including myself were still seeing red, no pun intended! You would see a slightly different result yesterday and especially today. The malaysians would have had a professional strategy to roll out these change with our emotions take into full consideration. People just needed to put their arses on ice and reflect.

The petition was a good idea and it was done to counter the Malaysians plans to implement a significant change without consulting the fans. When their plans leaked out, it was only then that some damage limitation consultation took place. The result of that consultation was basically having to accept the forced changes (which we only found out about due to the leak) or face the risk of the Malaysians walking away. Faced with this situation it was only right and proper that fans raised a petition which was done in public and presented fans with the freedom to express their dissatisfaction. The petition could have been avoided if they the Malaysians had consulted with us through the proper channels in the first place.I have now read the statement that they put out today and in all fairness to them they now recognise that not consulting us was a mistake.
