Why don't the team just go on a pre-season tour there?
Theres no better way to promote the club in a foreign place than actually take them there, with lorry loads of cheap merchandise. Cardiff City V Malaysia XI - It could work
Maybe take Billy the Badge out there, he'd have a field day

I think the exposure on Sky every week would have been a tad better.

seems perfectly reasonable to me.
