BOTH SIDES...

...of the story are reasonable.

Owners - They looked at ways of getting more income to offset the losses the club is experiencing month to month. They probably thought it was a bit radical but hoped for the best as they couldn't think of any other ways of making money out of this, promotion never being a guaranteed event however much you spend. The owners were probably very nervous about their idea and more than a little annoyed when it was leaked before they'd thought of the best way to present it.

Fans Against - All parts of our lives are constantly being rebranded and changed, change is not a comfortable human condition, it reminds us of death. Hanging onto the club's history is one way of creating a constant in our lives. From this perspective it looks mean and uncaring that it would all be taken away.

I don't know the right thing to do but I am getting older. There are more generations of fans to come and those growing up with blue shirts will love blue and those growing up with red shirts will love red. It's not always about our generation, we will not be here forever.
