Was that the plan, come up with some bizarre suggestion like kit change etc, split the fans and then pull the plug so the fans then blame each other and not them, and then possibly walk.

This actually is a fair point.
why would Tan be so childish as to pull the plug just because a few hundred fans kicked off over his plans to change the colour????

Exactly, it was inevitable that it would happen, even though he may not be a football man he is not dull either and would have been warned of the consequences from within the boards hierachy.

I think you might just have a point Nobby.
If we start to turn on them and they walk out surly that would look bad on them "Business men", I may be wrong mind.

In order to invest they have to see a profit in it. The red was a clear factor in that and now that's gone, now they look at it and ask the same question. Where's the profit? If they can't see it, they won't be putting more money in a black hole.

I bet Tan has skin thicker than a rhino and has made more ruthless decisions in his life. Don't think he would be worried about a protest march etc.
All part of his plan. Maybe?

I've never seen Cardiff fans argue with eachother so much in one day.

I've looked into this and from a good source:
The level of vitriol and the tone of the postings on message boards and in emails sent to the Malysians is what made them look at the whole situation again. Especially after they've singlehandedly kept the club afloat for the last two years.
They're not used to the personal attacks and see it as a minority of the fans throwing their generosity straight back in their faces. This is partly a cultural thing but also partly they feel let down by those that started kicking up a storm.

The club would surely have commissioned the "new" red kit & badge with Puma, or who ever they intended as shirt sponsors, a long time ago.
I think evidence of that would answer a lot of questions.
