One Extreme To The Other

Thu May 10, 2012 3:51 pm

I was 100% against changing the colour of our club along with the nickname and the badge however the £100m investment and other planned developments were attractive. I certainly wasn't anti VT or TG just against the identity change.

What I don't get is how the Malaysians can't sit down and speak to a group of fans to try and come to a amicable agreement on how to take the club forward, instead they seem to have just pulled the plug. Smacks of a bit of sulking to me and slighty childish.

Vicotry for us as we now get to keep our beloved Bluebirds but at what price?

...also maybe it is a lesson to the Malaysians that they should have included the fans from the start of these discussions which must have started some time ago.

BLUEBIRDS!!! :ayatollah:

Fantastic post.

Because I was about to post similar, you beat me to it! My feelings exactly.

The way it came out and across, was non negotiable, no debate, colours already registered, no discussions, meetings etc. That made me feel dead against them and their priorities and principles, not what they were trying to do because I would gladly have welcomed the cash injection, who knows maybe they could have convinced me about the colour change even though I am dead against it, this is called amicable discussion, compromise and consideration.

The statement reads they are sorry for the way it came across, but its that very action that was the root of the protests, non consultation. It wound me up big time to be fair. If it was done as a proposal and referendum, with guarantees of no further changes then I don't know, I could have been twisted in their favour. But this is how rumours escalate when business is done this way, so talk of Malaysian players, home games over there, name change so on and so far added fuel to the fire. And NOW they tell us after pulling out about the factual consequences.

Simple....Propose, meet, vote based on facts and assurances = Result/Compromise./No rumours and name calling. All moving forward together

Bloody hell even a Bluebird/Dragon combo badge with red jersey blue sleeves, blue shorts and socks that kind of thing. There was none of this open debate.

And I am not a businessman.

If they had made their intentions clear from the start then I am sure our future would be looking bloody fantastic right now.

You say leaked. Sounds like it was an "official" leak to get the fans wound up.

Then in a week or so they "water down" the changes and everybody agrees.
