Something very strange about this...

Thu May 10, 2012 3:28 pm

So the rebranding is off, yet another jolt in the rollercoaster ride that has been Cardiff City the last few days (years!).

Isn't it strange how when the fans were 50/50 TG would cite fan opposition as a reason at this early stage. Did they expect an easy ride? Of course there was going to be opposition!

Why give up so early without trying to reason with the fans or persuade them or even compromise? A large element of the support was in favour....

Something is very strange about all of this.

I agree! I was stunned that so many were for it but nonetheless they were. I was fully expecting an aggressive PR campaign from them to get us onside or to have meetings so we could all reach a compromise! Very strange! Should be an interesting few days but I still think that when the dust has settled we will end up with a blue shirt with red on it to satisfy the fans and the malaysian market.

Strange how........Because some bright spark who was trusted by the Malaysians came out and spilled the beans to look good and be popular, none of us know what there true plans were, none of us knew if forums, committee meetings and meetings with fans to dicuss there plans??? there plans and efforts to save this club all in smoke, We are seriously in the shit now and I thank all the little cretins and so called fans Leaders who have been creating a lot of hype and anger on people who wanted to save this club.

The true fans are now going to lose the club we all wanted to keep and support, regardless of colour.

Nothings been ruined yet so don't point fingers. People had a right to be annoyed just as some had a right to support it. I was gutted at first but was coming around slowly. If they had given it more time maybe others would have too.

It's a disappointment that they have just given up and not even sought to persuade/reason with the fans. It's not as if all the fans were against it anyway. It was about 50/50 which I thought was higher support than I would have imagined.

Surely they expected this!?! If not, then they are idiots! A few new quality signings, a nice looking kit, a nice looking badge , some details of their long term plan may have eased a lot of concern.

Whoever shouted exit strategy may have been right after all...

This is pretty much as I see it. I was against the change but looked forward to us engaging with the Malaysians to try and reach a compromise and to listen to their plans. I was stunned that so many people were for it and I fully expected an aggressive pr campaign to get others on board. If they had spoke to fans and done this, as well as invested some money then I',m sure 70-80% would have given them the benefit of the doubt. It's very very strange.

However, this could be seen as a clever strategy. Put out the worst possible re-brand, know the fans will revolt, step back and then agree to a compromise! If they had released the compromise re-brand in the first place we wouldnt have been happy but now we will be prepared to meet them in the middle as we are just relieved to be in blue and have the bluebird!

Agree something isn't right. Bluff or double bluff. Its like a big game of poker. Something tells me that they never really wanted the red kit and name change. They just wanted to create this reaction. Why would they pull so quick, they haven't even given us a chance to hear or look at their plans?
