A forum for all things Cardiff City

died a long time ago, and this latest nonsense is not only the final nail in the coffin, its pissing and shitting on its grave.
Its just getting worse every year, Souless ground, shit atmosphere, PC brigade taking over, the Soccer AM generation of fans, jumped up stewards, police controlling away travel like a game of The Sims, hardly any 3pm Saturday kick-offs at home, playing 2nd fiddle to the rugby. Enoughs enough.
Whats really getting my f*cking goat about all these fuking spineless odd jobs saying "We have to accept it we wont have a club to support". Big f*cking deal. This is not our club anymore anyway. Might as well keep your soul and your principles and go and support another club anyway as thats all the Dragons will be - ANOTHER CLUB.
It wont be Cardiff City. It wont be my Cardiff City.
Cardiff City and British Football. RIP.

Happened a long time ago, to other clubs, it just took longer to happen to ours. In 20 years' time, it might happen to Swansea, if foreign investors can find it on the map.

My opinion is completely opposite to you, I also was there at np for great times, however I don't want to live in the Past, I love the modern stadium where you can take your family ( if You have to ) to me its still cardiff city the club I love.

I have been at Ninian Park with a below 2000 crowd and you could hear a pin drop. Fans create atmospheres so we are to blame not the ground.

I don't feel the same way, sadly. When I started to take my son to the football, we were at Ninian Park and we are both season ticket holders at the CCS, at the moment. We've both noticed the changes, some for the better and some for the worse. The truth is, I've supported City since 1976 and my interest has waned more since 2009 than it ever did during our "dark days."
I've already renewed our tickets for 2012-2013 but I may not bother after that. If my son wants to keep going after that, then he might go with some mates, if he still feels an attachment to the football club in Cardiff that is presently called Cardiff City Football Club.

I cannot believe people are missing so many points......people actually believe that there is 100 million quid sat in a f*cking Halifax, waiting to be withdrawn to spend on players

...... I thought from the minutes of the meeting was that a 'deal' was close.....what a load of bollocks, that figure has been plucked out of the air to keep people sweet about the rebranding....If there is 100 million, it is obviously borrowed money, and with that comes interest....what if we don't get promoted in the next three years?, where will the money come from to pay it back?...Its a f*cking gamble and I can't believe people are being sucked in.....Are these people that desperate to see Van Persie, Aguero, Rooney, and are willing to sell the soul of the Club for it?? I bet these people are the same wankers who got the full sky sports package, and a sat on their arses watching SSN on repeat....these very people are the ones who have ruined football......
I'll never set foot in the CCS again, especially now our identity has been ripped to shreds....I hope there are thousands more like me who got a bit of pride in themselves.
30 years I've followed this Club, and now it's been taken from me.....I'm gutted.

Don't think things have been quite as bad as Polo makes out, we have never been second to the egg-chasers, for example. But this 'rebranding' would be the death knell for Cardiff City FC.

I just read The Echo on my lunch and fair play to Jason Perry and Nathan Blake they are sticking up for the fans, cos they know exactly how we feel, because they are legends of this club.
Unfortunately too many of todays Soccer AM loving wankers think Craig Bellamy is a Cardiff legend and probably dont know who "Psycho" is.

Very true.
We've got the memories and they think they've got the future. We'll see.

Polo your spot on mate, following Cardiff used to be about having a laugh going to shit places with your mates and having a top day/night out. The last few years its all been killed off, no fun, cant drink as much etc, nicked for f**k all. I dont really go down the new ground much anymore i hate it, its a joke no passion and full of weirdos....This is the final nail in the coffin as you said, going down the city and going away used to be great times following the BLUEbirds, but i feel now its not for 'our' type anymore. They want all well behaved people sat down dressed in red with a horn and a flag...I went to west ham home to see if it had changed a little since donny home for MD tribute and to see if I should start going home again next year. I was shocked to see how bad it was west ham took the piss for the whole 90 mins and we could hardly string a song back. The REAL Cardiff City started to die a few years ago and I think its game over for many people of the change goes ahead.

Polo
I share your views brother - i'm very mixed up - we've had our most successful seasons but i havent really enjoyed them.
Maybe we're nostalgic and afraid of change but i think this isnt the case and that maybe we can see the rot setting through the 'sport' and it's not leaving a good taste in our mouths.
the treatment of people in this capitalist world is worse than victorian.
why do the bother with money when they could just put a chip in us fuckin subserviant robots
Cardiff City will never die as long as we keep our spirit
