RED OR DEAD? THE COMPROMISE

Thu May 10, 2012 10:33 am

Everyone is saying that the Malaysians have effectively said 'red or dead' but no one has actually heard them say it. Judging by how they have run the club to date they have seemed very reasonable men and therefore I hold out hope that there is room for compromise where everyone is happy. Until i hear them state that this is their stance i refuse to believe it!

In light of this, whilst they may hope to turn us red, I feel that they, and us, maybe open to the following compromise:

1. I don't think anyone would have any problem with a blue home kit with predominant red bits on it, such as sleeves or a diagonal stripe, much like the Malaysian home kit. The red keeps them happy, the blue keeps us happy and we all go on marching towards the premier league united!

2. We already have a dragon in our badge already so why not make that more prominent but also keep the bluebird?

If they would be willing to meet with fans and to discuss this amicably then we can keep them happy and we will be stronger than ever with the new investment!

At the moment this is creating a huge divide between fans but deep down ALL of us want the investment and to play in blue so that should be our strategy when discussing this with the Malaysians!

We are open to part of our 'blue' homestrip having predominant bits of red on it and we are also open to having the dragon alongside the bluebird on the logo!

To date the Malaysians have been polite and respectful toward us, in fact TG has been a gent. These seem sensible men open to dialogue and all this 'red or dead' stuff seems completely out of character. At the moment it is all hearsay! Lets get them to Cardiff and have an open, frank, but amicable meeting with them so we can ALL move forward without creating this huge divide which could cause untold damage to the club!

I'm happy for Cardiff City to have a sustainable business model with home grown players...and not the need to become some rich boys toy.
