We lifted that cup as Cardiff City FC, The Bluebirds, the clubs colours where blue. a badge dont me diddly to me, at least the FA cup final badge had Cardiff City writen on it, give a few season and the name Cardiff City FC wont exist any more. im so distraught over this, cant belive this really is the end of Cardiff

We actually weren't the Bluebirds then. We only became the Bluebirds in the 30's after a play of the same name by some famous play-write was launched in Cardiff. Interestingly, nobody has mentioned that on the bottom left hand side of the crest it says 'Y Ddraig Coch'...... 'The Red Dragon'.

Maybe they thought about this more than we think.

Very interesting. Also interesting the word Bluebirds & the Bluebird emblem were only prominent from the mid 1960's.

Also, the last time we were in top flight league, there was a hint of red in our kit, all be it a red band in the socks.

I think what you are failing to realise is that this is just the start!!!! How far are you willing to let them go??????? This isnt just about a change of colour or badge!! There is a very very good chance that in just a few years time we will also be renamed, and that wont be the worst of it. If Tan is willing to do this to pander to Malaysian market how long before he demands Malky has a Malaysian player in his team??

We need the Malaysians but we also can't let them ride roughshod over us on this. We need to reach a compromise with them rather than all this 'red or dead' nonsense. There is no need for this divide with the fans!!!! We all want the investment and all of us would like to continue in blue (although we are open to having red on our strip at the same time) so lets ALL go for that instead of causing harmful divides which aren't going to do the club or us any good whatsoever!

You make a lot of good points in this post and i can,t really argue against them, i am not happy in the way VT has gone about this, no consultation with any of the supporters reps, and basically saying take it or leave it but what is the alternative?? lets hope he his prepared to come around a table to discuss it and maybe find a compromise, but in the meantime we can do without the knuckleheads who basically want to run VT out of town and start again in the welsh league. A £100 million pound investment doesn,t come along too oftern in life, this may just be our one and only shot of making it to the very top, it certainly will be in my life time, if VT walks/forced out of our club the consequences are frightening!!!!!

I don't know if you've noticed but the Dragon is also very similar to the one that is being touted as the new badge. Perhaps they know our heritage and history better than we do!!!!

I agree. What confuses me is that to date the Malaysians have been polite, respectful and sensible, almost model owners. It seems completely out of character for them to say something like 'red or dead' and that their are ideas are non-negotiable! At the moment this is all hearsay as none of us have actually heard this from Tan or TG! We need to give them a chance to speak to us amicably about their ideas and we can then put our concerns across. I'm hopeful we can reach a compromise if we all keep our heads!

They have already stated it is NOT NEGOTIABLE do you think that is polite??????

have you actually heard Vincent tan himself say 'it's non-negotiable'? That wasn't even said in the clubs statement or officially at the meeting! At the moment this is all hearsay. Until I hear him say this officially, or the club say it officially, we need to try and engage Tan in dialogue so we can get our point across and try and work out a compromise!
