ONE VOICE

Wed May 09, 2012 8:46 pm

Please please please read this before you act…..

Emotions are running high and it’s easy to Fff & jeff at the Malaysians, declare war and make threats like boycotting the stadium, wanting the Malaysians out etc etc.

However the purpose of this note is the plead with you all not to be fragmented in our approach or undermine our postion by foolish acts. I firmly believe if we the fans act as one then we stand a far better chance of negotiating with Vincent Tan and giving him no other option to consider and respect our opinions. I'm not saying we can get him to totally change his plans but I do fully believe we can influence a comprimise that is better than what we are currently faced with - but only if we come together as one voice.

"In times of crisis the calm see through the panic and turmoil to proposer and succeed"

Our approach and response must be planned like a military operation, although should be treated as a campaign not a war. I read there is a meeting at the Municipal club on Saturday, this is excellent news but it must be a productive meeting with sensible outcomes that we can realistically implement - remember from a negotiating perspective we do not currenty sit at the table with any position strength.

In my opinion Saturdays meeting should achieve the following;

1.Every campaign needs a leader who is the figure-head, lead negotiator, cool under pressure, someone who can keep his/her emotions in check at difficult times – this person shouls be identified on Saturday.

2. A spokesperson should be nominated - someone who can eloquently put our point across, who is familiar with press interviews, PR etc etc

3. Either within the above 2 people or separate there should be strategist, a planner, someone who can step back and assess the bigger picture – this person should be identified on Saturday if possible.

4. A plan moving forward, immediate approach, medium term, long term. What our points of contact likely to be, how do we get our message heard by the people with power.

5. We need numbers and exposure, we must collate the masses and be heard as one voice - this messageboard along has the abilty to reach the majority of City fans but like I say we need a plan of action.

As fans we have a huge spectrum of professional skills amongst us but it must be channelled as one voice and in one direction.

Some of the suggestions I have read on this board in the last few days could be counterproductive to our cause, however we need to consider all options open to us as fans. In many respects we are not going to change the our major shareholders determination to drive through change but I am convinced if we approach this collectively and professionally our voice will not be able to be ignored.

People like Julian Jenkins, Wayne Nash are decent people but they are not people with power in this situation. To a degree the same can be said for Steve Borley for all his millions he has invested, the sweat and tears he has invested I suggest he shares similar views to many of us – it speaks volumes that he took the time / felt the need to post a message on this message board and reading between the lines it was clear Steve does not fully support the changes in their entirety but what can he do……. That said in this situation all the aforementioned people are allies and in my opinion should not be seen as ‘the club – the enemy’. – Question how can they help us??

I don’t post on this forum often, in fact I think this is only by 2nd or 3rd post in as many years but I do read this board every day. I am no less of a fan than the next man (or women) Over the years I have shed tears of joy and tears of hurt for this football club and will not lie down and let some rich Malaysian wipe out all our history - I am Kairdiff born and Kairdiff bred and blue till I’m dead….

Keep calm – appoint a team – devise a plan – implement it – stick with it and I am convinced we can influence Mr Tan.

Only one mans view but please consider before acting

Well thought out post mate and spot on in oyur assessment of the way forward. Its time to put emotions to one side and put a decisve plan of action into place and make sure everybody sticks to the way to implement it and backs those entrusted with the tasks you mention on our behalf.
