Get out plan

Wed May 09, 2012 7:32 pm

I am convinced this is a plan for VT et al to walk away from the club.

Re: Get out plan

I don't think it is, but if it were, the number of extremely negative posts on this forum would certainly give him every right to.

The worry I've got is that that it is not the plan, but enough people trying to agitate could bring about that very result.

The quicker the better in my opinion.

If you think that then you simply haven't thought it through properly.

A. If he really wanted to walk away there is absolutely nothing stopping him now, why would he need to come up with some bizarre and extravagant plot to do it.

B. After investing millions so far, what could he possibly gain by going now?

Why the hell would Vincent Tan just f**k off"? That would be like buying a house, investing loads of money maintaining and improving it, paying the mortgage for a few years, and then just walking away, leaving it to the bank.

So if he were to leave, what then?

You may have a point. Because I cannot believe that any good businessman would have handled this situation as badly as the Malaysians. Its almost as if they were deliberately trying to provoke the fans so you have to ask yourself why?

Freedom? What would happen to CCFC if our billionaire owner walked away. Actually it's all academic as the chances of him leaving at the moment are nil, for the reason I stated above.

Exactly. They've had a couple of stabs at it and it ain't worked. Piss the fans off and state lack of support from them as the reason to walk away.

But they don't need a reason to walk away. I'm sorry but your conspiracy theory makes absolutely no sense at all.

Maybe to you it doesn't. I've dealt with folk like this before so I'll go on past experience for now. Ultimately and in the end, it cost me my club as I knew it.

Well if he do then I reckon all the creditors will come out of the woodwork and we will see Cardiff City back in court and 6months down the line we will be in the same postion as Portsmouth.

For what it's worth, this is my opinion also looking from the outside.

He seems to have deliberately annoyed your fanbase to the point where you will actually protest vociferously against him. This gives him the excuse to pull the plug and cut his losses while saving face in Malaysia with the excuse thatt he fans in Cardiff wouldn't allow him to brand the club how he wanted.

The question of course is what happens if he does.

But he has a huge amount of shares in the club, he can't just "pull the plug". Jesus wept, it's not rocket science is it. Just think it through for a minute.

The amount of shares he has in the club is exactly what would give him the power to pull the plug if he wants to cut and run.

Who in their right mind is going to buy 70% of a club in the position we would be in without Vincent Tan?

Re: Get out plan

He doesn't own 70% yet though.

The exact percentage isn't that important, the fact is he will still have to sell his stake in the club. If he walks away he loses everything he invested. Whatever people may think of him I don't believe he's stupid.

If he doesn't walk away he'll probably lose even more.

If he wants to walk away (which is not going to happen) he doesn't need a certain amount of shares to "give him the power" to do just that.

What he has invested will be recouped plus interest as it is mainly loans. It's not as daft as it sounds.

True enough. But equally your assumption that just because he has a huge amount of shares in the club means he won't walk away is nonsense.

Would he rather cut his losses at £30m or go chasing them with little chance of return? I know what an astute businessman would do.

Part of me thinks it is a huge publicity stunt that will either enrage fans and give get out clause or it is a way of saying please buy the club off us.
