After my initial horror yesterday

Wed May 09, 2012 2:43 pm

Today I have read all the reports of the meeting what vince had to say, what people on here have said and our choice seems simple we either except the changes and get some 100million invested in us or we say no and either fold completely or at best can look forward to a future in the lower divisions.
I am 50 years old now and have supported city since 1st game in 1969 most of those years were spent in the lower divisions when we went to games not for entertainment because there was none, but just out of loyalty to the club with a vague hope that one day things would be better and a knight in shining armour would come to rescue.
Well the knight is here but he has a price the question is do we want to pay it.Well at my age I don't want to go back to the days of sparse crowds and no hope, there seems to be a lot of people on here saying thats what we should do but would they still be going if we were in the lower reaches and struggling, for those younger or newer fans I can tell you its not a nice place.
For investing vincent tan wants to be able to sell our shirts in malasyia where it was pointed out that chelsea and man city have not done nearly as well as manure liverpool or arsenal.
For any that doubt he will invest then it seems part of the agreement is to increase capacity to 35,000 by the start of 2013-2014,now considering we never fill our stadium now that can only mean he has a serious intent to provide the funds to give malcay a realistic chance of us making the premiership.so reluctantly I will say ok if thats the price then I am willing to pay it
rather than stagnate in the lower divisions or go bust completely as seems a likely scenario.

This is the day you stopped supporting Cardiff City football club and went and supported a new club based in Cardiff. But please don't call yourself a Cardiff fan because you are not anymore.

Save us the sob stories. I'm 54, and can remember the dungeon years. They had their moments, it was not all doom and gloom. Obviously we do not want to go back there, but at least we were Cardiff City throughout. We were supporting our club. This new invention will be something else, a Malaysian franchise. I would rather be in the Conference with Wrexham and Newport County than play in red.

It won't be the Welsh league, it will be the English pyramid, like Wrexham and Newport County. That battle was settled when Newport took it to court.

Yuo say you would rather be in the conference which is a bold statement to make would you actually go and watch them though if they were in the conference.
As I said in a post yesterday they can't stop us wearing our old blue shirts[stock up now] they say they are dropping the bluebirds nickname but fans give a club a nickname and they certainly can't stop us bellowing out BLUEBIRDS at evey game
but at the end of the day having had enough of lower league football in the past I now want to be watching a team that can at least challenge at the top level and it doesn't seem anyone else is willing to put in the sort of cash to make that possible

STAGE 1 - LEAK RUMOUR WATCH OUTRAGE ARRANGE MEETING WITH "SUPPORTERS REPS"

STAGE 2- INDOCTRINATION - GET SUPPORTERS REPS TO SAY "WELL IT ISNT ALL THAT BAD" AND "BUT HAVE YOU THOUGHT OF IT LIKE THIS"

I SAID THIS YESTERDAY AND LOOK AFTER 24 HOURS ALREADY HAPPENING

Surely there is no opinion on this? if you rebrand the club you are effectively changing to a new club no?

Pathetic, just because a supporter of 50 odd years doesn't want to go back to he bad old days or worse have no club to follow he's no longer a supporter of cardiff city. Well sorry but nobody on here has the right to tell me that. I'm not happy with the rebrand but I'll support Cardiff City FC next season whatever colour they're wearing. I believe the "I'm not going again boo hoo toys out the pram brigade" should be the ones to question whether they are true supporters of Cardiff City cos thats what we will still be
