Ticket Office latest news on refunds.

Wed May 09, 2012 1:10 pm

I have today been in contact with the ticket office to enquire about a refund on my season tickets. The opening exchange was that the club were not offering refunds but I was provided an e mail address (tickets@cardiffcityfc.co.uk) where I could take this matter further. I will be writing to this address today informing them that if the club change the badge to a dragon as in addition to changing the kits to red ones then I will be seeking a refund.
I have a contract with the club whereby I paid in advance to purchase my season tickets in order to watch my team the bluebirds next season. Because the club has specifically rebranded and we are no longer the bluebirds then they have fundamentally changed my contract.I would have had more respect for the club if they had the decency to inform me of their intentions before I made the purchase thus giving me the choice to renew or not.
If the changes are made with no compromise and no refund is offered then it is my intention to raise a small claims action against the club to recover my money.
I know this may seem extreme but I hope that the club will compromise in some way. Although I am only one fan, if others who feel the same wrote to the club at the above address then we may get them to take some notice.

We've paid to watch Cardiff City, which we still are. Hope that clears it up. :ayatollah:

Thanks. At this moment the club is somewhat insulated from the fans anger. If some of us write to them then at least there may be a possibility that they may take note but I am not holding my breath. At the very least its better than doing nothing.

Well done mate. Let the scum know what we think.
I'm just relieved I havent renewed so far.
This "brand leveraging" crap has only just started with Cardiff. Or whatever they'll eventually call us.

No fan wants there team to be the nearly boys all the time, if they invest in players I'm all for it. I would rather we were a success than mid table....

I couldn't care what they played in, it's still Cardiff City...
I will still go with my mates, have a beer or two, go into canton afterwards thats not going to change...

As other posters have said - your contract is with Cardiff City and not the Bluebirds. I suspect you won't be getting your money back as the team will still be called Cardiff City whether you like the kit and badge or not.

1st problem, what use is the promise of a Malaysian shyster. Its 100m to pay off pretend ie bullshit debts.

2nd have a think about Slippery Vinny's next moves for the "brand" and "Malaysian union". Move the franchise? £120 tickets?Merger with Bristol City? ANYTHING. Because its just money to these scum.

The "football business" community has been hatching all sorts of secret wacko plans in recent times. Deep down most of us know where its heading. But its too vile to even contemplate for most of us.

Thanks. Here is a copy of what I have sent them and I will post their reply in due course.
Hi
Can you inform me if the club are going to offer refunds on the season tickets that have already been purchased for next season in light of the rebranding. I purchased my ticket in good faith to support my team the bluebirds and have spent a considerable amount of money collecting bluebirds caps, scarfes and clothing etc for me and my family. If the threat of this rebranding takes place and the bluebirds logo is replaced by a dragon as well as a kit change then I consider this a change too far. Considering that I was not informed of this fundamental change prior to my purchase then I consider this a step change to the contract that I have with you.
I would hope that our owners will revisit these plans but in the event that the proposed changes are implemented in full then I would seek a refund in full.

Well done.If enough of us do it then they may take note. At this moment, the club are insulated from our frustrations and this is a good way of raising our concerns.

Its a good job that you are not my legal adviser then  You can call me what you want but at least I am trying which is more can be said for you. If the rebranding is severe enough then there is a claim. If the changes had been announced prior to to my purchase then I would not have a leg to stand on.It would be nice if you supported this action by writing to them yourself but thats your choice. :ayatollah:

As a solicitor I can confirm that there is a strong argument in this above. The club will refund it in my opinion as the costs of going to court far outweigh and i mean FAR outweigh the hassle of a refund
