Campaign of disobedience

Wed May 09, 2012 9:04 am

In 1998 that's what Clydebank supporters launched ahead of proposals for the clubs new owners to change our colours, name, badge and relocate to the City of Dublin.

We managed to get the backing of the press who highlighted our plight and our campaign reached the press in every corner of the world.

Clearly, I'm not going to say too much on what went on, but it is something to consider and I'd happily speak to anyone about what angles we took back then.

I am open to the idea of change in the name of progress, but some things are a step to far and unless Mr Tan & co are willing to compromise then protest etc will have to be started and ramped up.

I expect this will get agreement from some and discontent from others, such is life.

I think something like this is the way forward. We somehow need to all meet and get our ideas across so we can fight this in a unified and organized way!

Its easy. Don't buy a red shirt or any of the rebranded merchandise and still wear your blue shirt from this season.Tan will look foolish if he cannot change the colour and it will be beyond his control as long as we stick together.

That's one way we can strike back but we need to unify and come up with a proper strategy

A last resort

Dialogue needs to be set up between Tan and/or some sort of fans committee. No point in bullying him ,he will just dig his heels in further.

Agree with you there mate, but if there is no room for compromise then it has to go to the next level.

Wrong again. Our opinion of the Malaysians was before they decided on these changes. Also note how sneaky they are in announcing this in the closed season by having a quick meeting to announce their plans and changing everything before the start of the new season. I thought that Tan had some honour but alas he has none.
