Wrong Club Bought

Wed May 09, 2012 8:21 am

I've been thinking about this long and hard and there are a couple of thoughts that have come into my head.

If Tan likes red so much and thinks blue is an unlucky colour then he either bought the club without looking at the finer details like what colour we play in. Or he just doesn't understand the british mentality when it comes to their fooball clubs. I say british despite being a proud Welshman as I know whichever club you tried to do this to there would be uproar! How do you think Newcastle fans or Notts County fans would react if their owner came in and wanted to change their famous black and white stripes? It wouldn't be nice!

You can change a lot of things at a football club, stadium names, the badges (slightly), the stadiums themselves, even the colour of the away kit! To change the colour of the home kit, change its nickname and radically overhaul the badge is sacrilege!

I think he has bought the wrong club! If red is so important to him then he should have bought Bristol city, Barnsley or even go the full hog and bought united off the glaziers! I would rather see them have the 100m invested into their clubs than for Tan to take 100 years of tradition and be so disrespectful to it. He needs to look at it from the view of his own countrymen. I have never been to the far east but believe them to be very traditionalist people. They have their traditions we have ours. That's where the traditions need to stay in their own countries.

I do however feel that their is a compromise to be had here on the kit colour. The home kit stays the same but for every away game we play in our red away kit (obviously playing in blue when the home team is red or even a third kit). The badge would stay the same on the home kit but change it for the away so that there is a fusion of the dragon and the bluebird in the centre circle of the badge and have red as the main colour replacing the blue. As for the nickname it stays the bluebirds! I think this is the most sensible course of action to be taken by both sides.

I FOLLOW CARDIFF CITY AND THEY PLAY IN BLUE, THEY ARE THE BLUEBIRDS!!!
