Wake up fellow Bluebirds this is 2012 - history is great and we should be proud of our clubs history but these guys are trying to secure our financial future. We have already seen the state of football this season, an iconic football club such as Rangers FC (a worldwide brand) were close to going out of existence. This is just the tip of the iceberg. You need be in no doubt there will be football clubs folding altogether in the next few years and some of those clubs may very well be household names. These guys have the foresight to put us on a firm financial footing and we will be better placed than most to ride out the storm ahead. What will that mean for us? well, we see year in year out that those with the financial clout are the cream that rise to the top. This season Southampton and Reading were both financially backed and where are they heading? The premier League. Lets be fair we were outclassed in the play offs against a club which has huge investment similar to Premier League clubs and are heavy favourites, justifiably so in my view to win the play off final. So yet again all three clubs likely to be promoted this season have had heavy investment. Year on year this happens with very few exceptions our enemy Swansea being one of those exceptions. Look at the Premier league - those clubs that invest heavily are at the top of the table - its just common sense.
What do we want for our future? years and years of being the bridesmaid and never quite making it? or huge investment and playing in red. For me its a no brainer, I say cherish our history but embrace the future. I think the future for us is a bright one, far brighter than many a football club in this land. There are big changes in the football world on the horizon, we cannot and must not be left behind.

If changing our identity is the answer to prem league then u can keep it. To get to the prem league and stay there can be done by earning your way there like swansea, norwich,. Blackpool also got there on a shoe string previously... We only needed. A small investment for players in January and we could Av been there... The whole re branding process is a joke.some of the most successful clubs in the world play in blue so this lucky colour thing is bollocks.. If man city win the prem, people will def buy their shirts worldwide.... Same goes for chelsea with the champ league...

I got that statement in an email directly from TG

- no seriously though like I said cherish our history and embrace the future, when we are top of the pile this time next season the stadium will be full of fans in red shirts with red scarfes, raising them proudly in support of our great Cardiff City - mark my words

It's already split the fans and whilst I don't want to go red, I want to watch top notch football and I want Cardiff City to be the team providing it!
I know you've got a bluebirds tattoo, but the relevance of it will never go away!
I, on the other hand, was foolish enough to have a girl's name tattooed on my arm and when I finished with her, I had to get it blacked out!

how much research has been put into changing our shirt colour and badge in order to penetrate the Malaysian market??? Sounds like none! It is just on the whim of a megalomaniac who knows NOTHING about football! Man Utd and Liverpool will always be the dominant red shirts in Malaysia! £100M isnt going to get us anywhere near their level! We could sell our souls and still end up with NOTHING! Plus whose to say that next year Tan won't change our name to Malaysia Utd and demand Malky play Malaysian players? If he's willing to do this he's capable of anything! Even if you're happy with the current changes are you not concerned that this is just the tip of the iceberg? If we let him get away with this then he will ride roughshod all over us and our club will be gone forever! Yes, we may well be a premier league team by then (although £100m won't get us far there!) but we will be called Malaysia United, playing in a red stadium, in red shirts, with a dragon on our chests, watching Malaysian players in a stadium covered in Malaysian flags! Is this what you're happy to accept without even a fight???? Does reaching the plastic promised land of the Premier League mean that much to you??
