The owners didn't save us like some like to think...

Tue May 08, 2012 6:47 pm

because had HMRC put us into adminstration the truth is we would probably be in a better financial situation than we are now. By coming in the owners saved the shareholders money because had they not come in then all shares would have been worthless. However without doubt there still would have been a club and whats more coming out of administration a debt free club ensuring that we would have been a far better prospect for any future buyer.

So please stop convincing yourself that the owners saved the club because the club will always be here no matter what.

How i fail to see what we have achieved bar going from 40million in debt to 70million and gone nowhere for it on the pitch with a lesser squad if you ask me

It's a nice rant but completely ignores the fact we were trading insolvently.

Admin would have been a miracle, we'd have been looking at liquidation.

But hey, why ruin a good rant?

Is it..? Many clubs have progressed after coming out of administration because the debts were wiped clean. I always said that it would have been the best move for the club and I standby that. The only reason we didn't go into administration is because too many people would lose too much. Just think of much better the club would be without the Langston debt and had we gone into administration then we would be a far better option for perspective buyers.

No like Swansea, Southampton and many more how are in a far better financial position now than before they went into administration. Even the likes of Leeds.

and some have been liquidated. I understand what you are saying on financial grounds, but I'm not sure I would have like to have rolled the proverbial dice on liquidation.

Theres far more clubs who have come out of administration in a positive position than gone into liquidation. FACT

Portsmouth have done well since being in admin
Luton just dropped a few devisions.
Chester liquidated
Rushden liquidated
Leeds dropped a few devisions.

Dont know much about there finances and everything, so it might be irrelevant but going into administration isnt always the best option.

Luton dropped divisions because the FA took 30 points off them!!!!
Chester were in the conference
Rushden were in the conference
Leeds took administration when they were already relegated from the championship hense why they started their first season in Div 1 with -15 points. However they only just missed out on promotion that year and none of them would compare with us at the time because even after the point deduction we still would have been safe from the drop.

Indeed, something this rather petulant man fails to grasp.

A CVA is nowhere near close to being liquidation, as any businessman knows. As any fan of CCFC knows, the former wasn't an option once HMRC started the winding up order.
